Watched THE IMITATION GAME last night

In 1939, newly created British intelligence agency MI6 recruits Cambridge mathematics alumnus Alan Turing (Benedict Cumberbatch) to crack Nazi codes, including Enigma -- which cryptanalysts had thought unbreakable. Turing's team, including Joan Clarke (Keira Knightley), analyze Enigma messages while he builds a machine to decipher them. Turing and team finally succeed and become heroes, but in 1952, the quiet genius encounters disgrace when authorities reveal he is gay and send him to prison.

I can remember when it was illegal to be homosexual!

An incredible injustice done to someone who should have been made a hero.

Arcade or SNES?

I still enjoy Super Off Road from time to time on a SNES emulator.

Arcade occasionally, but my friends older brother had it on his PC. I was obsessed with that game. I attempted to install it on my own PC at home. I copied it onto floppy disks and tried for hours to get it to work but alas no... DOS was not my friend that day. I was so disappointed I spent the evening drawing one of the tracks on paper with crayons.

I have played it since on a DOS emulator. Still cant finish the game.

Growing up in Krugersdorp and riding that place stukkend.

Kadimah BMX track.

Acropolis Cafe on a Saturday morning to waste my pocket money on Tarzan Boy and Ms. PacMan

Walking through the veld after school and going down to the spruit - if you're from Noordheuwel, you will know what I'm talking about.

My friend Gerhard's parents owned Hillsnax at a time - slap tjips and tomato sauce after walking there on the freeway!!!

Getting my Raleigh Grifter in Std1, and NEVER, EVER going to school by car again - even at KHS (until we moved to Durbs)

Another time, people

Might as well be Mars, if you look at our world these days...

Every guy loved the KHS blazer (not!!)....navy with gorgeous pink stripes :w00t:

These okes were my heroes when I was a kid.

I've picked up a couple of their movies in the 3 for R99-type sections of late. Hilarious even now!

I lived across the road from the dam in a block of flats. K-dorp used to be such a cool place to live, but not so much nowadays. My mother still lives there and the last time I visited her I was quite shocked at how much it has changed.

I can see the exact spot that I was standing on that night......... Charfing a girl, bought us each a hotdog from a vendor outside the club. I took a bite of mine and somehow managed to violently eject the vienna sausage covered in tomato sauce and mustard from the bread roll, against my white polar neck, tee shirt material shirt and from there onto my light yellow instinct pants. I did not score that night.

You do know that you failed to score on account of your outfit and not the hot dog incident?

On that note...man, there were some hot chicks around when I was young. Jolled at the Doors occasionally, but my Joburg days were more ESP, Hideout, Gecko Lounge and other similar pits of iniquity.

ESP, Hideout, Gecko Lounge and other similar pits of iniquity.

We shall discuss this in more detail on Saturday.

I share ESP as well.

Many a sunday afternoon spent there.
