I was using the HiTec shoes with vibram soles. I didn't find them that grippy so I bought these.

On sale for R500 at Revolution! :)

And I'm using DMR V8 pedals.

Howzit man. May I ask what you paid for the shoes? I need some new skate shoes.

Maybe something like:

Shimano SH-AM45 BMX/Downhill/All Mountain SPD.

You can use it with or without cleats.

Ask your LBS if he can order it for you, if he stocks shimano shoes?

More of a skater sneaker.

Show us the sole?

Exactly! Skate shoes work perfectly for flat pedals :D Better than hiking or hitec shoes. The Five Tens and Specialized 2F0 look similar to skate shoes as well.

Obviously theres nothing better than Five Tens, but for R500, these are awesome!

This is exactly what the sole looks like.

Bringing back this old thread

Found these at cape union mart...

Nice stiff mid sole.

Water repellent uppers.

Nice vibram lug patern. Two rides in and they work quite well-

I figured worth a shot at R999 on sale

Surely this will absorb moisture and be difficult to clean.

Press release states the opposite.

Also a fairly easy workaround to this is to get a water repellent spray and apply when new and contunue to re-apply.

Only the clipless version listed on specialized sa site at this time...bummer

Recently got a pair of RC Hellion. Great fitting shoe and really has a really solid build and can be walked in without looking like a duck. The rubber is a little less grippy than my 5/10s but is perfectly suited for longer non technical rides [i.e. not shuttle days].

Same here. Had one on two tiny surprises with the grip on the first day but you adapt to them really quickly.

Great shoes all round.
