There was a Discovery Dinner here in SA before he rode the Argust... R50k a seat, over a 1000 pax, sold out in the blink of an eye. At the dinner a young girl pitched up outside in her wheelchair with her parents, she had Leukemia, was 'his biggest fan' and asked at security if he could possibly come out quickly and say hello. Can you guess the answer? (hint: she didn't have R50k to pay...)

That ladies and gentlemen, is the real Lance Armstrong.

So, your boss knows for an absolute fact that the message was clearly communicated to security, who in turn clearly passed on the message to Armstrong, who then rejected the request?

Considering that "your boss" was one of 1000 guests at the event, he seems to have a pretty keen eye (and ear) to know all of the facts as it happened.

So you are telling me you would rather believe in Lance's "outstanding reputation" than believe that him or his entourage were d#icks[emoji53] Edited by Gen

Sorry, I don't have a written affidavit from security confirming exactly what happened... believe what you like though. I trust my sources, and his character and actions through his career have painted a pretty clear picture. Just ask Betsy Andreu who received voice mails saying he hopes somebody breaks a baseball bat over her head.

Lovely role model you guys have chosen

Nah, but people also like to demonise Armstrong because on some level they feel personally betrayed by this guy. Next someone is going to post that he's read a letter of a guy that heard that someone saw Armstrong going around kicking puppies.

lady Steer as you pointed out, all the seats sold out in a blink of an eye,,,,,you never know maybe he was not asked directly, maybe there was a schedule maybe the"rent a security "was not up to scratch on the day, he has given up so much of his time for the cancer kids I find this story very one sided.

I do see what you are saying, but the arrogance of him especially during those years.. it wouldn't surprise me at all ????

A thread on the hub debating Lance Armstrong in 2016. I'd never imagined.

Can't wait for the wheel size threads to start again. It's like the good ol' days!
