You already have your number on you and a timing chip on your bike or yourself - they then add another thing that can get lost or cause problems? Personally I would just go with a timing chip and race number. The bar code scanner is written in revelation so should be avoided at all costs

From the hooplas in your chute and then that adrenaline rush you get when you just start I think till about Edinburgh with all that people cheering you on. It's one of the best feelings you could ever get. And then you hit the blueroute and the race actually begins.
