Some might disagree.

There have been over 30,000 hits on this thread, not bad for a thread filled with hypocritical people and uninteresting behavior.

I sat there being amused by a dog chasing its tail, thinking how easily the dog is amused by its own tail, then I realised that I was amused by a dog chase its tail...

I'm scared to offer an opinion now... but in anycase, some interesting reading http://www.spankingfit.com/world-wide-pandemic-caused-gene-doping/ and of course, take it where it comes from!

" The source of the current world wide health crisis has finally been identified: genetic doping activities in professional sports! Contagious virus vectors, developed to insert high performance genes into players’ genomes, are causing the current cancerous pandemic.

News headlines such as these certainly are frightening. Luckily, up to now, they are fictional only. Nevertheless, they may actually portend a future health crisis, if gene doping practices continue as such in professional sports. In this piece, Spanking FIT examines the potential for such a crisis to occur; but, first, we quickly review the findings of our prior investigation of traditional doping with focus on the Lance Armstrong affair.".....

They need to make doping a criminal offense  as it is in Italy- Remember the police arresting Festina at the TDF in 19??

Ken now just sits back and says he is retired. IT IS FRAUD !

How many guys has he ridden out of a possible sponsorship? How much money did he earn as a pro cyclist. If he could be charged with fraud it would be a different ball game ;)

Thing is, it's pretty hard to fix the outcome of a cycling race. Doping seems like it would be more a sort of attempted fraud rather than an actual fraud.

Not annoying me at all. Its just interesting how hypocritical people are willing to be just to say something. Its an interesting behavior isn't it.

Definition of hypocrisy. plural hy·poc·ri·sies. : the quality of acting in a way that goes against claimed beliefs or feelings. (Merriman-Webster)

Perhaps you could point out one or two specific examples within this thread? I don't know anyone in this thread personally so it's not possible for me to assess behaviour against stated claims. Maybe you do know some of the people and can therefore accurately label them as hypocrites.

Rather unfortunate association for Max (from the Hub cover article today)...:

"

Max Knox announced his return to the ever so popular Barberton XCM on 30 January. The Barberton Rotary Club hosted the first ever Ultra Marathon (120km) in South Africa in 2009 – the Barberton XCM mountain bike race. This was the first of many Ultra marathon titles that Knox won, not only in Barberton, but also in South Africa.

During his three Ultra marathon wins, he left only dust in the eyes of the other cyclists such as Kevin Evans, ..."

If they dope, lock them up... some potential time as the little spoon might make them consider their actions a little more carefully

And if they are innocent, they will find the money to defend themselves I can assure you, not just waltz off and leave the sport 'that has given them so much" in the quagmire once again

Although i do agree that harsh punishments are not unwarrented for PRO cyclists, what do you suggest for the recreational cyclist who gets caught for something banned? They arent there making a living of the sport, dont take away sponsorships and sometimes are unaware off the banned list. Hence the problem overall. Once you set a precident, it needs to be applied equally across the board. So servere punishments are givene, but jail time is maybe a stretch to far?

It is probably only the riders with full racing licenses, that would get tested?

And we wait with baited breath......
