I don;t think it would be that black and white if you were on the receiving end of someone elses **** up

lol how is it a **** up.....was it not her responsibility to check what is allowed / apply for tue / wait for tue / manage sponsor expactations?

She got caught and has been sanctioned....no violin music changes that.

agreed but often you get to the pharmacy to pick up your meds and they tell you "ooops we'reout of stock on the prescription meds but we have a generic......."

You say " is it the same stuff?"

They say " Yes its just not made by the same company and its cheaper so its easier on your medical savings"

and therein lies the makings of the next Bikehub Friday Saga

If you were a pro, you should say something along the lines of "okay i'll take that but before I use it i'll look it up at home and do some research etc" The time of I didn't know it had that in or the pharmacist said it was okay is over. You have chosen to be a pro and that is one the responsibilities you need to accept.

If weekend warriors were tested every week I'm sure they'd have more bad luck too.

AS it stands, statistically a weekend warrior has less chance o getting caught since the only time they are likely to get caught is at a major event and the odds are still in their favour, not the pro's at the sharp end.

if they look at my results they would rather give me something to take than to test me for any drugs.  :w00t:

1. Check medication against database - yes

2. Race when sick - no

3. Apply for TUE - no (see 2 above)

4. Sympathy with dopers - no

TUE is not only for when you sick, I applied for TUE for Ritalin and got it. I checked the list and googled what to do, pretty straight forward, even my ancient GP new what was was cooking.

Wish these whiners would just put some big boy pants on and stop with the excuses...

So many stories and so many keyboard judges.  hehehehhehe.

Not one of the stories here correlates with what I heard.

But that is not for me to tell.

But what I can say is that this one I won't judge on this one.  The story that I heard is a case of "it could have happened to any us" type thing.  It if is true.

The big problem is, people lie.  And no one knows what or who to believe.

So.........2 names down..

1 to go?

If this is the case and she is truly innocent, she should contest it?

Think about about production controls around generics. Maybe there's something interesting to discover there.

Its easy to take the moral high high ground when approaching the problem with only what is presented in front of you.

I am loving these threads....and though I have no sympathy for dopers....let's see what the moral high horse commenters have to say about themselves.....how clean are you Mr. Amatuer...you are not a pro but you are a cyclists and if you are doing events with a license then you open to be tested and liable for your own actions...or perhaps a UCI event like Epiek (ask Baaisiklist)....it is Friday after all.....

TUE must be applied prior to race, not during race.

Application must be submitted to committee for approval.

He had permission to race... but lets not derail this thread. I'll go start a Friday one now now :)

Then don't take generics.
