If the athletes are to be believed the product they took was tainted. Tests on Biogen's Testoforce found the same T as WADA found in their system.

The product name kind of gives it away though ????

See that link you posted Biogen saying no no it is herbal and also not a supplement[emoji848]

He failed the test in 2016. He was still being sponsored in 2017 by Biogen and Navworld. Wow

Looks like he has a new sponsor now as well... going to be interesting ROI if you have a 4 year ban and not allowed to compete.

Ja nee and he also didn't mention the product on his anti doping form..like the other guy did..

"Gilbert’s argument that he did not declare Testoforte because his sample was taken after a ‘very gruelling’ stage of the Sani2c three day mountain bike event where he was exhausted and in pain due to a wrist injury."

Dude was a pro football player as if he doesn't know he must mention everything that he takes incl pills and other supplements.

So doff. Anything that will enhance natural levels of anything will mean it is a.. wait for it ......... performance enhancement and will lead to a positive test.

going to steer clear of biogen in future...

if its in one of their herbal products even if by cross contamination, it means it is certainly in their factory building being manufactured or put into other pills - which is worrying.

BIOGEN Sports Supplements are subject to the most comprehensive testing program currently available and not formulated with WADA prohibited substances.

The product in question, Testoforte, is not a sports supplement and does not form part of Biogen’s sports supplement range. It should be noted that this product is a complex herbal and is designed to support healthy, natural testosterone levels.

We believe that all competitive athletes should only use Informed Sport and Informed Choice tested sports products and avoid complex botanicals. To this end we have made every effort to inform tested athletes of the potential risks when using complex botanicals via our website, on in-store signage as well as within warnings on product labels. We have now taken the additional measure of adding this warning sticker to Non-Sports Supplements / herbal products and we are in the process of updating these labels.

We have only recently had sight of the results of the testing conducted by the SA doping control Lab at Bloemfontein. It is not unusual for products containing complex botanical materials, especially those designed to support healthy testosterone, to give rise to a trace finding of steroidal precursors such as 1,4-androstadiene-3,17-dione in screening laboratory tests. The product in question was manufactured using strict manufacturing standards and our manufacturer has confirmed that there is no evidence of deviations observed on the batch questioned. We have no reason to believe that this product is unsafe for general consumer use.

However as a precautionary measure we have sent the product for additional confirmatory analysis to one of the world’s leading laboratories in this field, based in the UK. This should shed light on whether the levels indicate the possibility of cross-contamination from an exogenous source or are naturally present as trace findings, not uncommon for a product of this nature and formulation.

Regardless of product choice, herbal products that include Tribulus Terrestris pose a higher risk for tested athletes as the ingredients are such that they may (or may not) give rise to the trace presence of prohibited substances. Biogen Sports Supplement products containing these ingredients are labelled with a warning to professional athletes. We encourage all competitive athletes tested in sport to avoid similar products.

For more info on our stance and range of certified sports supplements, please see: Competitive Athletes

Yours sincerely,

Biogen Management

I started using Biogen's Cytogen about 6 months ago.

On the tub it has the WADA approval , that is why I use it .

Hope this is ok , not that I expect to be tested , but certainly felt comfortable as it is on the approved list . I didn't see some of the other local energy drinks on that list !!

Testoforte had unlisted ingredients.

let me get this straight.

He took something that has a dodgy name

He pings the drugs test and it turns out the stuff he took was not WADA legal.

If that really is the case, then in my mind 10% of the blame is on the athlete, 90% on the supplement manufacturer.

Did it have the WADA approved sticker on?
