HI CTJ

Sorry to hear you are having problems with your wheel.

Please can you contact me on the e-mail or telephone number below so that we can attend to your query.

Please could I ask that you have the serial No. of the wheel in question handy (it will be near to the valve hole).

Best regards

I think this is a pretty good response from dragon sport. Omnico can take some notes from this.

I wanted the Cross Roc wheelset, but think I've made another plan.

HI Simon

The CrossRoc Wheelset was discontinued for 2016 and was replaced with the extended Crossride family

However we do still have stock of the CrossRoc and Crossroc XL wheelsets in 27.5" - who have you been dealing with that told you we had no stock?

Let me know if you need further assistance

Best Regards

Gavin

I been without wheels since the Argus hit a pot hole, two cracks on the rear rim! Insurance paid out but no stock!

I even spoke to local bike shop about just replacing rim! but no reply !!!Love my Mavic wheels but back up service sucks!

I bought a pair of 2nd hand wheels off the hub.

Thanks Zakattak!

HI Jamex

Please could you forward me some information on your wheel query so that I can follow up.On the road side we had a shortage of Ksyrium Elite and Cosmic Carbone SL rims after the Cape Town Cycle Tour but these are all back in stock.

Any feedback would be appreciated

Best Regards

They are absolutely useless and uninterested in helping existing clients .

I broke a Mavic Cosmoc Carbone rim .

Sure it was an old rim (2008 ) .

This happened 2 years ago .

Took it to my LBS who said he would sort it out .

Dragon sports at first said they didn't have a rim . LBS asked them to order one .

A couple months later and still nothing .

After about 6 months Dragon sports tells my LBS they have a rim , but it is part of another warranty claim and they need to sort it out on their system ....

I have now given up and bought another set of wheels .

POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE .

Gives MAVIC , which I think is a great product , a bad name .

HI Popit

Although this would have been before my time (I took over Mavic in Feb),I would like to get a bit more information on this case so that this can be avoided in future.

We are generally up to date with the spares we keep, and when we are low the longest wait is usually 6 weeks to get parts (barring any production delays)

Any feedback would be appreciated

Best Regards

I have also had the misfortune of having to deal with a replacement issue for my Mavic SLR wheelset.

It was a few years back but it took about 5 months and countless calls/ emails to get anywhere...

Dragon sports' service put me off ever buying mavic again- there are other great brands out there.

HI mrbaker

Although this would have been before my time (I took over Mavic in Feb) I would be interested to get more information on your case so that these delays do not happen again.

We are generally up to date with spare parts and when we are out we can get from our supplier every 6 weeks so I am concerned that there seem to be people who have waited many months for spares (generally barring any production delay these spares are usually in stock with us).

any more info on this case would be appreciated

Best Regards

Gavin, I like how you responded. I am currently in the market for new road wheels and your open and forthright response on an open forum, where people severely criticized Mavic as a brand, has convinced me to keep them on my short list. .

DJR , just to re-iterate .

I LOVE my Mavic wheels . I have 1 old set of Cosmic Carbon's , 1 Broken set ( my rant earlier in this forum ) and Cosmic Elite's .

I will be contacting Gavin to see if he can resolve the problem of my broken wheel .

Will do this once I get home so that I can give him the serial number .

I am the eternal optomist , so hope he can help , then I will have 3 sets !!!!

Hi,

Bad service always gets its coverage, just want to say, the two occasions I have had issues with wheels, I have only had great service. Not always the quickest, but was informed with the status and time frame for having the matter resolved.

good going Gavin on keep it up!

So glad to see that I'm not alone suffering the Mavic Wrath ...

50 mm Mavic Carbone Story: have a spoke replaced at lbs (not mentioning names but sounds like Rajees Horizon Jhb).

Takes 3 days but hey I pay with a smile ..

On the ride I hear a ticking sound from the wheel... turns out that a few spokes are loose . Check nicely : 5 cracks in the rim , spokes pulling through at the nipples ..

Back to Lbs to have some words, they keep saying its my fault and I must claim from Insurance... eventually they decide that they will send it to Mavic and it will be sorted out .

Many months later , I'm told its out of warranty and that they will replace the Rim.

I get a message saying the wheel is ready for collection and my Bill is R3850.00

Lots more words between us and long story short, I go pay (Not smiling but at least I have my wheel back .

After riding a few of the spokes are no longer parallel to the others , Twisted at an angle if that makes sense .

So Now WHAT ???

Do yourself a favour and make the trek to anton at summit cycles. This isnt a mavic issue, just a *** wheelbuilder. Anton won't charge the earth but his wheel skills are amazing. Very much worthwhile.

My chinese wheels are still 100% a year and a half later after his fiddling. And you know my weight class. Hahaha good luck boet

Im not disputing what you are saying, just all of the warrant claims or agent related stuff I have heard about Dragons has been good.

Its not uncommon for someone to gush with happiness about an establishment and someone else to be super miffed with them though.

My story, bought a new pair of ksyrium elites 2 years ago. in that time I have had to replace that little freewheel thingie ma bobbie ( sim card size thingy) twice and now the dreaded free hub shriek of death ...

both times the freewheel thingy broke while doing a triathlon, and yesterday the shriek started during a cycle race.

No faith in these wheels sadly.
