Not sure if his has been asked before, but with the crazy fires going on down there has any of the route been affected yet?

Would be a bummer if they shortened it again.

Interesting - it is the first time I have noticed that they implement this.

My CTCT seeding index is now 5 higher than my PPA index

Mine is other way round. Not likely to change with new baby due mid feb

Nope, no affect at all at the moment. Still on the proper route.

I'm glad they are also taking MTB rides like K2C for seeding. This year I'll probably only ride my road bike 3 times. CTCT, 1tonner, SCT - not enough for a good seeding.

I see the cycletour seeding site looks up to date: http://seeding.cycletour.co.za.

Anyone have an idea of which start groups match the seeding index range based on last year's groups? I fear I'm slipping backwards this year...

Does anybody perhaps have a list of the seeding groups and indexes, example

A - ....

B - ....

Im wondering where I will end up with my index of 11.72

Based on last year you should be in 1B start group with that index.

haha, with only the Fire Ride from 2015 to show, I have an index of 114

I don't really want to start at 6am, 8-ish would be perfect.I'll be in an international group. If I finish in about 5 hours, I'd be happy

52 days left

Lucky bastard  :whistling:

Would have much preferred an awesome Argus seeding while still rolling with my regular B bunch in the funrides

I see the Carnival City has a penalty of 5. This doesn't do my seeding any favours :cursing:

Does anyone perhaps know why it has a penalty?? It was in November last year, so it can't be for time unless somebody screwed up.

All races are penalized except the Premier seeding events.

Received an email from them yesterday to confirm that our application, to be included as a premier seeding event (for the 2018 CTCT race), has been approved.

We applied last year, but once the new list is published, they don't add to it during the year.

Firstly.......Congrats. You and your team must be absolutely stoked with amount of effort you put into this and finally be rewarded. Secondly..... Do I understand this correctly.... You are a seeded event for 2018... only it does not show on the list as it has already been published? If that is the case then it sounds like you will have to engage all means possible to get the word out. Seeded events attract well and not everyone is on the HUB. Still... a Magnum bottle of Champers is in order..well done.

Thanks - the only thing stopping us previously was that we used ChampionChip for timing.

I only see a list of events used for the 2017 event - do you have a link to the page/list?

Your event is not listed on here yet, but nor is Amashova and a host of others. I have spoken to Irvin from CTCT office and he says that the complete list of seeded events will be published shortly. If you have received confirmation of your event being a seeded event, it will show on the list.
