Saddle Bags on Road Bikes: cool or uncool?

If you dont want to use a saddlebag. I have a alternative. Long piece of velcro and attach your tube,bomb,etc with some eectrical tape and then just attach to your saddle. Small and still aero

I am VERY happy with my Speed Sleeve from Cogent.

 

We want to buy a few more of these .... seems stock issues even affect this -

Here is by saddle bag, home made. Big enough to carry a spare tube and tools. Small enough not to be in the way

Any alternatives to the SpeedSleeve - that are actually available ?

 

PS - must only strap to the seat rails ... (most bags also strap to the seat post)

what do you need to fit in it ?

I'm loving my Scion Elan

but if you want to fit a tube plus tools in you'll have to get a tubilo tube.

First two years I had a BIG BAG .... two spare tubes and all the tools ....

 

Then got a spare tube bag for him, and the SpeedSleeve for my bike.

 

A friend got a new Spark last week, thus the search for a SpeedSleeve .... but if we can get stock I am certainly buying some spares ...
