Assos has stepped in as financial sponsor for the next two years and looks like the team will go back to the Qhubeka branding

Will a mini coup if they can snag Aru.

I assume that WorldTour minimum wage figure of €38k is the base wage?

With all the nights away on races and travelling, wouldn't allowances boost the basic quite a bit? (If S&ts are paid?)

38k euro is the minimum salary for a Pro Tour rider to be paid per year. It has nothing to do with travel or anything else.

Doug Ryder, love him or hate him, he seems to keep pulling rabbits out of the hat. Kudos to him. Never say die...... give that man a Bells.

bloody well done for pulling this off - i would not have had Assos on my shortlist so clearly the guy knows how to massage sponsors. In the PEAK video, the DD guys were all very honest (and happy) about how Doug got them in the door and then the whole thing cost them much more down the line!

I'm friends with his cousins (who are south african)

38k EUR  times ~20 riders = so minimum wages are 760k EUR for the year. quite a bit more in the 8m EUR budget for salary. (cause clearly more senior okes aren't all going to stick at the minimum)

The budget isn't only for riders pay. There's probably a ratio of 2:1 support staff to riders, if not more.

Tao and Ganna...... Pretty sure their contracts are fresh off the printer after the last 2 months!

Superman Lopez is a surprise, so is Kwiatowski.... Both seem to offer their respective teams a heck of a lot.

I would love to see Kwia at a team that targets the spring classics. At 30 he still has a LOT of good 1 day racing in his legs.

ja, that goes without saying - I'm sure basic unavoidable logistics like transport, hotels, food and diesel are a huge component.

Maybe i didn't word it well, but saying that they can commit to 38k per rider is a very small portion of the 8m
