The argument at the time in defence of that move was that our clothing was too expensive by world standards. Now we have cheap clothing and no clothing industry. Well, a very much smaller one.Yes, it is alot smaller now. There are lots of people making clothes locally and alot of it, if not all of it are stunning.

Below is exhibit A, notice how he has completely omitted the foot part of his socks and actually lengthened his calf part. This is where the performance lies.
