SURE most "specials" (at any and all retailers) will be more hype than actual saving

So what they do is take the discount/margin in the vehicle and use that to offset the monthly payments. Rather take the discount and buy the vehicle at well below Retail price. Your total finance cost will be +-R100k less over the period (depending on discount that they give)If you finance @ retail price you will be married to that vehicle as you wont be able to get a trade in price close to what you owe the bank (even more so on a Volvo)That first year will be magic though Firstly you’re not totally wrong but not totally right. The most you would have gotten officially off a 60 would have been 60k, so your getting more. And if your smart about it you pump the additional income back into the car and reduce that capital. Secondly, the days of not being able to trade in a Volvo have gone, they now trade equally and sometime even better than their German equivalent.

Thanks for making me feel better about "only" losing 35% in 2 years .... My entry level Etios only lost 20% in 5 years. Absolutely convinced it is one of the best no-frills daily runners out there !

We give a lot of flak to the retailers for their websites crashing, and forget about this major hiccup. Have struggled now with 2 different places in the space of a few hours.
