Three were hit by the taxi, one has unfortunately died.

Yesterday on our club training ride here in JHB a very drunk driver bumped a rider just behind me, fortunately he wasn't hurt but his rear wheel was damaged. Driver didn't stop just carried on weaving across the road.

Not safe out there.

Blah blah blah. Sarcasm lost on you in your quest to always control the narrative.

Your first order of business. Through names and be not lekker

Then you go all politically correct.

Yes this is a very sad incident.

But it's inevitable that you and your pals will be victim blaming soon

Not sure why you posted what you did originally....

Its bound to stir people up....

man, this is always sad to read.

Always, because it ain't the first.

i instantly think of that mexico pileup pic with cycles and bodies in the air.

in the last twitpic, there's a cop talking to taxi driver, I DO hope there's more than talk going on.

This such sad news. Unfortunately we cannot rely on drivers of cars and trucks to look out for cyclists. I would love to ride a road bike but have resorted to MTB whereby I load my bike on rack, head of to the trials and cycle without worrying what's happening behind me all the time.

Condolences to families that lost someone In this manner

As I log into bikehub when I get to work on a Monday morning the first thing I usually do is check my notifications I got since I logged out on Friday afternoon. But today the first thing I saw was this thread. Lousy start to my Monday but it is NOTHING compared to the lousy start to the rest of the lives of the loved ones left behind after yet another tragic incident involving "one of us". All I can do is hope justice is served and the families affected can get some sort of closure.

RIP and condolences.
