Robbie Stewart Posted March 13, 2019 Posted March 13, 2019 Simple truth.I would put that cow in ICU for a fekken long extended stay, with the aid of heart and lung machines.
m-squared Posted March 13, 2019 Posted March 13, 2019 I'm sorry to hear all this but well done on keeping your cool and dealing with matters in a correct manner. Also kudos to all the witnesses who are willing to step forward to assist. It's something missing in today's culture. Sterkte to your daughter!

I really, really, really wanted to heed HL Mencken's advise "Every normal man must be tempted, at times, to spit upon his hands, hoist the black flag, and begin slitting throats." But I decided to let the law take it's course. Fortunately I know a few people in the right places - the local station commander is a friend as well as a few lawyers as well as a good few prosecutors and a judge (or two) ... most of whom I met through cycling. I'd be happy to let her spend some jail time and permanently lose her licence - she is not fit to drive.
Shebeen Posted March 13, 2019 Posted March 13, 2019 Holy ****.... Really sorry to hear about this, I'm super glad your daughter wasn't seriously injured and she can still smile. How did you contain yourself, and not give the driver a moerse PK?? I hope you and all the witnesses nail this ******* piece of ****! Who drives away from knocking a cyclist (yes it's been said before) but a child.... The i10 driver is lower than scum in my eyes, doesn't deserve to live.... **** I wouldn't even piss on her if she was on fire... Sorry dude for the foul language, I have two daughters myself and would hate anything to happen to them. Give your girl lots of hugs and kisses!!!!! don't sugarcoat it there!looks like the hub fourletter word filter is working hot on this one. I'm going with Holy F-bombthis F-bombing piece of S aitch one teaF-bomb I wouldn't.. how did i do?
Sepia Posted March 13, 2019 Posted March 13, 2019 Hit and run! Driving away! Lowest pig dog! Does "it" have a human footprint.Driving away and then saying sorry, ........only because the odds are stacked. Glad the kid is ok.(Sorry, too pissed off)Happens in Natal too and nothing gets done. I think we have a case here.
Captain Fastbastard Mayhem Posted March 13, 2019 Posted March 13, 2019 Fkn hell, Riaan! What the p03s is wrong with people!? Glad your little one at least has a kick-ass story to tell, and also a rather harsh lesson on proper behaviour as an adult, as well as an equally important display of how there's still humanity left in this world. I would also probably have lost my rag. This sort of thing really, really grates my carrot and cannot go on unpunished. Forgiven, yes. Unpunished, no. Sterkte to you and your little one. I'm reminded every single day that people are in fact stupid, generally speaking. If average SA IQ is 70 (according to polls and stats from independent sources) and 50% of the population is below that, even above average respondents are incredibly dumb.
Pants Boy Posted March 13, 2019 Author Posted March 13, 2019 Out of interest how old is the driver?since her dad is involved I'm guessing 18-25. If nothing comes of it with cops and courts, go and get that CCTV footage, place it on social media and let her get the rough end of the stick online.I have zero sympathy for this. 18. Got her licence in October last year. I won't go the social media route. If the law fails there's other options
Chris_ Posted March 13, 2019 Posted March 13, 2019 Damn man, I went cold when I read that topic name.... Glad shes ok.
shaper Posted March 13, 2019 Posted March 13, 2019 Glad your daughter is ok. Hope she makes a full recovery, physically and mentally.
Frail. "Will forever remain "Frail" Posted March 13, 2019 Posted March 13, 2019 Very Low life piece of Scum does not deserve the right to walk, talk, let alone BREATH.Disgusted to hear about your Daughters run in. Praying that Justice will prevail. I really dont know what i would have done?
Slowbee Posted March 13, 2019 Posted March 13, 2019 Nothing related to the topic at hand - but your daughter has a awesome smile! And she looks as happy as larry with the pink cast. Pity you caught her with such a big smile. No milking the "pain" for chocolate pain killers from Mom and Dad. Just very very glad she is ok.
RocknRolla Posted March 13, 2019 Posted March 13, 2019 Glad your daughter is ok.I commend you for not ending up an assault charge against you. However, this is clearly what separates us from a person that would leave the scene of an accident like this. We have a 3way stop in the neighborhood that is being ignored, and yielded to at the best of times, it's all good and well till something bad happens, then it's all excuses and remorse...
Bateleur1 Posted March 13, 2019 Posted March 13, 2019 I am just so glad your daughter is ok. The rest has already been said by other hub members here. If I may ask what area of Pretoria do you stay? Can't see the school uniform cleary to identify the school. Just curious.
Dirkitech Posted March 13, 2019 Posted March 13, 2019 Madness.... I've seen unpleasant accidents where people died and I'm so glad for her and your sake your daughter made it through with a pretty pink cast to show. I expect you may have a fairly long road ahead of you i.t.o. legalities en pursuing justice, OP, but keep in mind, if the hit-and-run driver gets charged with a crime, they MAY fake anything to get out of it, even remorse or pity. Just think back (unpleasant, I know!) to the day it happened how they felt no remorse to lie to your face about "stopping to check if your daugther is okay". If they truly have a change of heart, perfect, everyone wins, but stopping an apparent criminal from repeating their offences now lies in your hands. Thanks for sharing this awful experience that luckily turned out good!
Eddy Gordo Posted March 13, 2019 Posted March 13, 2019 Jor! i10 drivers........Glad your daughter is ok.Please dont accept any apology or excuse for fleeing the scene and even denying anything.Try and get as much as possible charged against the driver. People in general need to slow down, its just pathetic!
Furbz Posted March 13, 2019 Posted March 13, 2019 i'm so sorry to hear about your Daughter. i hope she makes a full recovery. honestly. see if you can settle it out of court. It's not fair, but it realistically is the best you will get. the same happened to my father. eye witnesses and all.his case was thrown out even with overwhelming evidence, written statements, and an admission from the driver.effectively there were more important cases.we did everything we could including mobilising social media.
