This Gauteng weather is playing havoc with my SS only attempt ...

223 done in 3 days, one long on road Christmas eve, a longish off road Christmas day then my son and I went for our traditional boxing day short ride which I also did on my MTB.

Keeping an eye on the weather today but will do an 'indoor' (spits) ride this morning just in case it doesn't get any better just to get the K's in

BUT then there was a break in the rain,  enough to get in a ride and only get a lil wet near the end!

IDT crisis averted 😜

I had some company on Zwift today. Was lekker to ride with a hubber (HdB) I need to do 50kays a day for Rapha, but will probably do 60 so as to make it 6k kms for the year.

My outdoor rides this week are pretty limited (one of those lunatics still at the office), so I'm being sneaky and getting is double rides (before and after work), totaling 53km per day up to and including Friday, so I should end up on the 500, just.

After today I have 112km left. But since the weather outlook for the rest of the week has improved a bit, I would like to see how close I can get to the full 500km with outside rides, so an additional 117km I think.

So did 80 with a huge group.b3sVByvxkzMUNaxJMqvakcthyTiYTD5Bq4v3hbtcPM8-2048x1152.jpg.abe73e14e2cdb9664a30db5d7fb230f7.jpg

Tomorrow and Wednesday look good for riding outside

Does anyone really recover on Zwift, asks user Peanut 3R / BMTR. In my experience, only if you ride pace partner D. 1.5w/kg is pretty low, could even be considered high Z1/low Z2.

Pace partner C is not bad either, if it is a big group like yesterday. 150-ish to keep up.

Going to get tight for me as I spent 7 hours driving yesterday and will have the same to do on the 30th which has unexpectedly taken 2 days off my schedule

the 31st is looking like a huge day out - might have to use the roadbike and get some easier miles as I’m not failing again this year

My son’s birthday is on the 31st, so I always have a day less.. Get out that roadie, Wayne, en maak ‘n plan with a pancake flat course. 😇
