I had a short day and finished work early. It was pouring like the monsoon and the street outside was under water, but after an extra cup of good coffee, the rain "stopped" and I hit the road home. After the last 2 years,us Capies now delight in the wet!

The Liesbeek going through Newlands in a muddy brown flood - that sure is something I haven't seen the last 2 winters! Same for the waterfalls streaming off Table Mountain when the clouds opened up a little! What an invigorating ride! I'll forever be a Karoo boy, forever in awe of rain!

Was that today? We can really thank God for the rains we (Cape province) had the last few weeks.

still don't know how to get to the start of FireHut 1

Start on the circle route, go over the bridge and straight past the gate, once through the gate take the left road up (I think it is marked as quarry route).

Continue with the climb until you get to a jeep track that turns sharp right and just go up there. You will get to Firehut 1 and if you continue upwards you will reach Firehut 2.

i thought the bottom ones were 3 and 2, or does it run the other way, ie. isn't Firehut 1 right on top, then you drop into Firehut 2 and then Firehut 3?
