Glad I have to train for a 3.day event in June.

After CTCT I struggled with motivation to get out there .... nursing some roasties and a still tender leg did not help.

The "lus" to ride seems to be coming back .... as winter rain is moving in.  Think my indoor trainer has done more miles in the last 6 weeks than it has done since lockdown ended.  Actually trying out a combination of core exercises followed by a 30+ minute ride on the IDT ....

Trust you will get your "lus" back soon enough👍

On sunday I'm doing my first ever 200k ride, I'm thinking of perhaps taking the week after as a rest week, zero exercise at all.

No pics - yet - but finished my3rd Eroica, for me one of the nicest cycling weekends on the cycling calendar - anyone even vaguely THINKING about it, it is a very special ride, on vintage steel, around 60km (Eroica CLASSIC), and then obviously 160km concurrent Gravelbike ride, and 160km’Hero’ vintage steel bike ride, which is pretty next level…

So, if thinking of it, DOit next year!
Chris

Hope you had a blast, I did the long route on my « modern gravel bike » and I must say… I was happy not to be on a steel vintage bike 🤣

I expected to hate myself for entering a 170km gravel race after 2 hours but must say I enjoyed every second of it, yes, even the hour+ section of headwind after Ouberg 😅

1st photo at the first stop after 1hr full gas in pitch dark, with a crapy light, up Ouberg.

The rest was after the last stop, down ouberg into the clouds, rain and mud, but the perspective of cruising downhill to the finish made it almost enjoyable 🥰🥰

Ta very much. It’s actually a Defy Pro 1. About to upgrade with some deep sections. Just make it look a bit more racier 😁

Nasty crash this morning. Thank goodness for a helmet. Concussed and waiting for X-rays on shoulder, but I think something is broken. Thanks to WJ who stopped to assist if you happen to read this.

Wasn’t able to check if the bike is okay, but I really hope so.
