7 passes is stunning. Would like to go back again.

Any recommendations, we stayed near grtp in jan

Recommendations in terms of accommodation? There's a few good options but December time this side is a true dog show, so everything is expensive and booked up.

had friends stay here and they recommend, it's also en route to the 7 passes (from the Knysna side) and not too far from town...

Next time you're in town let me know and we can hit the passes!

how long should it take an average rider to do 7 passes?

I average about 22kph and it takes about 3 and a half hours including a stop at the trail park on the way for a coke. I ride from the Knysna side and the wife usually meets me in George.

Lots of climbing lots of spectacular views...

I said AVERAGE rider, not some super duper fast racing snake!

As an average riders who likes to cruise along at more like 15km/hr it should take me the better part of a day then. So sort of a nice tour, so to speak. I like it.

Might need to put it on the cards for one of the long weekends for next year.

I am an average rider and I ride bits seven passes 3 times a week because I live on it so no way to go on any rides without doing a section. The hills are gradual and beautiful and 20kmh is very doable. Try and hook up with someone who knows the area because the riding in the mountains behind is amazing - more gravel than anything so not technical. Garden route bike park has all the technical sections if this is your thing. If a gravel bike is your thing, this region has everything you need

Depends on budget of course, but if you want really nice place try oakhust farm cottages or their really cool new tented camps. They actually have about 20km of private single track on their farm. From there, garden route trail park is a beautiful 50km round trip

while my back wheel is in the shop I thought I'd give the old girl a little love and take her for a spin around the 'hood
