Only one spot crossing the river after Bacela to hike.

 

And the hike over the mountain down to Irongate which was only about 500meters, but that view made up for it (down on the hardtail is a different story, I nearly shat myself a few times)

Daily commute home

Went checking out the progress on a new link road between Gonubie and Beacon Bay.

 

Planning to use it to commute to work, will shorten the ride by 3km and cut out a dangerous portion along Old Transkei Road which has no shoulder as well as bypass the township which of late has become somewhat of a hot-spot.

 

Reckon another month or so and I'll be able to use it, some deep excavation on the one side is very iffy at the moment.

Had a nice ride at Meerendal.

 

Route looks good after all the rain.  And the staff at Meerendal has trimmed back most of the bushes that have overgrown the routes in the last few weeks.  

 

At Burry Stander we encountered a couple puddles ....     

 

 

 

Nothing like a bit of mud to bring out the inner child ... 

 

 

 

And certainly nothing a bit of TLC cant sort out ..... nice wash and lube ....

It is "okay" for a wash stand .... but too much "sway" of the bike when turning the pedals etc ....

 

 

I made a proper stand that I use in the garage when want to work on my bikes.  When we are done the stand swings up into the roof trusses.

Met a stranger along the way who doesn't know the area and we rode together for the rest of the ride. He was faster....it stung a bit....[emoji28]
