Should he want his day in court, proceed with laying a class action of all that come forward, as he will need to be present for the case. Further you could ask the court and even a lawyer to serve a summons in person for all the fraud as he will be there 

You allow him to have profiles on bikehub hub and I would not be surprised that he has conned people via bikehub.

And, the way I see it, he has used his usual strong arm tactic of threatening and you have ultimately backed down, by removing posts. Rather than contacting the poster of these posts and asking if the information stated is factual or hearsay, and can they standby their post. Else to remove it.

We all know his standard MO, is to threaten, but will not follow through, as it opens him to counter legal action!

Edit, I believe there are a few lawyers here who am sure would happly send a reply and that would likely be the end of a threatened case.

I started a Small Claims Court Procedure for a motor vehicle accident as we were clearly the innocent party and there was some doubt over the other party.

They were very efficient, certainly at the outset and it's a very simple procedure that starts with you getting a claim to him that he has x period to pay. After that you summons him and it starts.

Good luck and deal with the scamster!

Agreed, please keep it civil and factual. But likewise, if information is factual and relevant, please keep the thread open. Everything right now is probably going to be conjecture until another done-in individual steps forward. But the fraud section is there for a reason.

 

The facts are plain and simple and available across multiple forums, threads, facebook pages/posts, fake PoPs, etc. This individual has used multiple profiles on the Hub (and other sites) and has previously advertised one of these events on the Hub.

 

Please share the case number when you receive it. I'll contribute R2k.

Yes, a case number was shared: CAS 367/3/2025 (Stellenbosch)

No court date at this stage. We have been in court with Mr Bewsher on prior occasions. That case was dismissed with a cost order in our favour.

Thank you for this message. Yes, have done everything within my power. Including a lot of research on this guy. He has done this countless times and appears to be masterfull at reincarnating himself when things catch up with him. If he had spent all his energy and time on one legitimate adventure business, he would be doing exceptionally well!! What is also concerning is the number of charities he appears to be connected with. And I assume that overseas cyclists and adventurers have been an enormous source of clients for him, blissfully unaware. I would still have no idea if I hadn't by chance googled Taun Bewsher. It was quite a shock! And unbelievable that he is still walking free... Many people have opened cases of fraud against him , I think he eventually settles his debts when cornered or his family pays to keep him out of jail. And there are also many who haven't laid charges because it's time consuming or they had no idea what they were dealing with or they know and realise the futility so they just write it off and move on and forget about it which is what keeps Taun going. Very sad for those who save for months for family holidays/ cycle trips/ tours only to lose their money and no holiday happen. AI definitely made things easier for him although he already has copies of every possible legal document from way back so no problem churning these "intimidating" letters out 👀
