Sorry - we weren't too clear on that. Four & Five are closed in the direction of Silvermine.

Mast route is open, it's a bit of a muddy slog once you pass Mamba until you get to the 'lookout corner' but same as ever after that.

For what it's worth I would wait until it is a bit drier up there, it's doable now but I would hesitate to recommend it as 'fun'.

Whatever, @Sid the Sloth did it twice this morning 🤣

Deon showed me a picture where they stuck a rake into the accumulated silt that washed down in one spot.........and it looked at least waist deep!

Definitely seen better days!

As mentioned above - trails are in better state of repair than the jeep track. I put my wheel into some of the silt in a puddle and almost went otb on the way down from the mast - not fun.

Stoked to have access to this climb again, but will stick to using the mtb for now!

Nice to see someone using the quarq in spindle power meter. Not a popular choice among forum experts but more than accurate and consistent enough for Mtb use 👏🏼

I’ve enjoyed mine, I would definitely consider using it on the road too. I’ve cross tested it with my assioma power pedals and it seems accurate enough.

That's going to be quite a while I would guess, if ever. That jeep track is absolutely toast in large areas - over time we hope to add by pass sections to all the worst parts but it's going to be a longer term project.

I’d devote my energy to The bypass sections and leave the gravel road to the okes up at the radio Tower to advocate for. It took about ten years to get the last 300m of gravel road cemented due to the extent of erosion. Once they couldn’t get their vehicles up there things happened quickly. Now is the time to get that approval for opening an “ up” singletrack

I've always thought Tokai needs its own "Irish climb" ala Jonkers. No better time than now to advocate for that.

LOL. It's been put forward so many times, even in the old, original Tokai plan back in (I think) 2012 / 2013

Agreed though that this presents a far better opportunity than any in the past, though.
