  3. Yep, things on mud island went sour from yesterday - dark days ahead SV. Might make it out for a ride tomorrow, definitely on the winter bike though
  4. I vote for the dude whose R30k Specialized got stolen and he wanted a new one from somebody...
  5. You actually get the Castelli RossoCorsa socks in a 6",9" and 12/13" cuff length. The 6" is quite short, the 9" is very pro. Size up on the Castelli ones - I wear a size 45 Sidi and have to go to the XXL socks, the l-XL is quite a stretch...
  6. Possibly - but how long will it last on the dusty rocky roads of SA? Weight, money and strength(durability) - fine balance Still is quite cool, would work better with a Lefty
  7. Sart is a well knwo italian outfiot that makes custom carbon frames... http://www.sartocycles.com/
  8. Chains/casettes can be used acroiss brands. Hijack on: Has anyone reused the 11speed KMC links? Hijack off.
  9. Ritchey Superlogic... http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Models.aspx?ModelID=46976&utm_source=Google&utm_medium=Shopping&utm_name=UnitedKingdom
  10. They have a full suss 29er? Not according to the website.
  11. Basically the stretch on the far right picture. Benita de Wit described it roughly as follows in RunnersWorld a couple of years ago. Find a table/bench that is hip height - place your leg on the table, bent at 90%. Lean forward to touch your nose on the table. The effect is basically the same as on that lynosport website. It worked for me, have never struggled with ITB again, since 2005. I admit I do not run much, but ran a marathon and IM earlier this year. And I had no ITB issues through training and the runs.
  12. I once got an ITB syndrome after/during a half marathon. In the runup I never ran further than 10km. Physio/Orthoped said it was overuse. Could it be the case here? I am no expert, but there is quite a difference between 9km and 32km. Nose on the table - it is all that works (Benita de Wit stretch)
  13. I could help you out with this... http://www.bikeradar.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=40049&t=12812932 I also live in Richmond. I will ship at cost as it will be of very little effort if you are interested. Cheers, Bontie
  14. The lady in second spot rode tandem with her husband...
  15. There is another difference - the UK giant shop is click and collect, so they do not deliver...
  16. If its not posted in detail on here, it didn't happen...
  17. Your calves will look "like sculptures carved out of a piece of polished rock" soon enough if you go upmountain on a SS. SS is far less maintenance and lighter...
  18. Nahh, next will be the Assos frame...http://www.equipecampionissimo.com/en/49/default.aspx
  19. I am sure Joseba Beloki would have approved a light set of disc brakes on a given day in the 2003(?) tour. Decsending in the Dolomites/Alps gets rims VERY hot, and could supposedly cause tubby glue to melt. No with disc brakes that would not happen...(there is the weight penalty) BTW - I commute on a CX bike with discs, because on mud island I can still brake in the wet.Generally I think it is not a bad idea, but I'll wait for the Campy version
  20. Strava is awesome, a must have for anyone. Note , it also works with android and other phones too, not only Garmin uploads...
  21. I forgot my Dogma next to the side of the road when I stopped to take a leak a while ago... I went back later in the day, but it was gone.Any chance of a crash replacement?
  22. Well I am sure the importers of, say castelli really apporve of someone selling Garmin kit at 1/5th of the price they can land it... I think people who buy fake merchandise are fools! I saw a guy with a Dura Ace, 3T ARX team, ZIPP404 firecrest kitted Chinarello Dogpoo in a race earlier this year. I felt sorry for him.
  23. As it is a road bike - R8,5k will go a long way for second hand bike. R8,5k gets you a very entry level road bike.
  24. Do you have a Garmin ? www.ridewithgps.com - register, Ho to "Map my ride" -- click a route and download. Job done! Sounds like a fun ride though
