  1. I only ride Fox forks, but when I bought my girlfriend's LIV it came with a SR Suntour fork. Initially I had full intent to find a 650b Fox and put it on, but when setting up the bike I was actually really impressed. Great smooth action, but the adjustability was really good. High and low speed compression settings, tunable rebound and with a little bit of playing around with the air-pressure is perfect for her (she only weighs 56kg). Was not expecting that. Saved me money too.
  2. I've ridden pretty much every trail in this list, so I voted for the one that I have not purely because it looks like an amazing adventure: The Fatbiking. Damn MTB is amazing, and to have it shot so well, this is just winning. We often get caught up in the fact that Zuma is busy destroying SA, crime etc is mad, the Rand is f*****, etc etc, but looking at these pics, reminds me why we're lucky to live here. That Signal Hill loop is amazing to do after meetings, Jonkers on a Saturday whilst my GF hits the market, and then GRTP for a weekend away... just so freaking amazing.
  3. Great. Running 2,6 Schwalbes on my bike at the moment and loving it. Nobby Nic front, Rock Razor rear. took a while to get the right pressures not to have a "double suspension"on the front, but loving the bike.
  4. Super ride. And do Tokai in the morning first. Tried this a few weeks back, and by the time I got back to where I parked (Bootleggers) I couldn't even sit on my saddle. hahaha.
  5. YES!!!! 150%! I ride Boyes Drive on my road bike all the time!
  6. Definitely going to go the route of an Intense Primer for a one-bike solution at the end of the year. I love my 2017 Trance Adv1, but on longer rides the 29" wheels could be handy... anyone in the market for a Trance?
  7. The same as my summer playground. MTBers can get wet and muddy. It's more fun. You just need chain lube, bike wash and a spare set of kit.
  8. What would be a good time to ride Greenbelt tomorrow (Monday / public holiday)?
  9. Keen to try out some Maxxis next. But currently very happy with a 2.35 Rock Razor in the back (27,5") and a 2,35 Nobby Nick in the front (but feel I could get something with less "resistance") on 30mm internal rims.
  10. Plus it's Samsung. Anything except their TV's just feels like cheap Chinese crap.
  11. Top of Tokai.
  12. Not as strong as previous days....
  13. Early April the 29er Alu Anthem 29ers hit SA (early) and then the Advanced ones shortly there-after. *confirmed*
  14. LOL @ the Strava peeps. WTF man, go ride your bicycles. And e-bikes? The piece written sounds like a junior PR writer trying to sell something. They certainly have their place, but sh!t like "what if you fell and needed cell phone reception"... LOL I think the few reckless on them will spoil the bigger picture for all. Go earn that descent.
  15. Jawbreakers "disappearing" on your face? No man, you gotta have got those for free to say that.
  16. Repost the list please? I've had a run in with Coolheat back in the day. Was a certain mr Fowler though. They still the Shimano peeps?
  17. 2017 Giant Trance Advanced 1 Always just ridden Spank bars, so went with some bright green ones to match the colour scheme. Took these up Tokai on the weekend. So far not overly in love over my 2015 Trance, but lots of setup to do still. And NO ******* IDEA WHY MY PICS ALWAYS COME OUT UPSIDE DOWN ON THE HUB. FFS!
  18. Saw a signpost at the top of Southern Cross Drive yesterday that was clearly maliciously removed. Tried to push it back in, but the hole was f*cked. Clearly someone pulled it out / threw it down.
  19. Good luck and thanks to the backers who keep the wheels turning in our sport. Sponsors need those of us following the sport we're passionate about to support their businesses and let them know we're supporting because they support our hobby / past time.
  20. No man, even right away around bike racks on the roof are ****. Why oh why??? Even when I had a sportscar that couldn't have a towbar, I at least used a clip on rack. But why on the roof? It looks (insert Cape flats P word here).
  21. Itching to get back into SA and hit this. Been doing Greenbelt loop twice a week, will be nice to cross the road at the old jumps at the top of Southern Cross Drive and ride all the way to Rhodes Mem for a cup of tea and then back home to Tokai. Which parts need an Activity Card? Same boat as others, will not renew until the c*nts holding back the opening of Tokai, well, open Tokai.
  22. Rock Razer brilliant on the back. Run the 27,5" and find it a good rear for my Nobby Nick (yeah, hate it / love it relationship, but predictable) front. Wider rims = a definite upgrade recommendation. Bought a Specialised Slaughter / Butcher combo and tried it a few rides (3) and hated it. Anyone looking for pretty much brand new combo of these two in 27,5" - drop me a message and make an offer. Hated them, but some seem to like them.
