Definitely not looking to buy from them myself, they posted a bunch of adverts on Facebook today.
Wanted to get some other options before reporting.
Would hate to see an unknowing buying parting with their cash for fake goods
The website doesn’t give much confidence
Yeah that’s what caught my attention.
It blows my mind with the huge number of bike shops we have nowadays that for some reason some bike shops expect subpar service to just be tolerated.
Granted not all shops, but it’s definitely hit and miss these days.
The price we pay for bikes and components these days surely warrants more vigilant service.
Gone are the days where the average visit to a bike shop is a few hundred bucks.
My 2 cents
Random question;
Is the Epic still owned by the Ironman group?
Anyone else trying this platform out?
I randomly had their advert pop-up on bookface last week and did some YouTubing.
It’s similar to Zwift with more focus actual game play it seems.
They seem to be allowing limited number of people to test the early release, I sent my details in last week and got the software link delivered this afternoon.
Only done a short MTB ride so far but looks ok for a free platform
Mine was done in 2019 and I found the invoice. Costs were:
2nd hand Pike for ~R6.5k (bikehub)
2nd hand Monarch RT3 184x44 for R3.5k (stoke, basically brand new)
Full rebuild of Pike for ~R1350 (stoke)
Major Service for DS ~R750 (stoke)
Sundries for like R100
i'm pretty sure they just used some existing line items to account for what the true work was. This included them sending the frame to Pyga and back to get a stuck bolt out (can't remember which one) but I'm not sure if that was stoke or Pyga being awesome by not charging for it (probably both). I honestly couldn't believe it was this cheap.
Ah fantastic, thanks this is very helpful
Guys that have done the conversation from Stage to Stage Max, how many of money did it set you back?
Yeah I was expecting more from the Rival.
Decided to give Garmin another try.
Cyclelab special on the 6X Pro - R10700. Couldn’t resist
Reviving this old guy.
Im looking for some suggestions for a road bike for a bigger guy. I currently hitting the 100kg mark, working on getting this down to 85-90.
got ironman 70.3 next year.
I grew up on road bikes but back then I was a little more petite to say the least.
should I be looking for an endurance type geo? if so what bikes would others recommend.
Looking to spend around 30K
thanks
The doctor just came to tell me.....
I am on the theatre list for reversal of the stoma for tomorrow. It is good news and I need to thank each and every hubber for your support. While Dr is doing the reversal he will check for new cancer that they picked up. Might not be cancer at all.
I sure as heck can’t wait to het back on my bike again
Thinking and praying for you today buddy
Hi All, A Little off topic, but I am not getting response elsewhere.
Looking for some 140 Pascoe 650b..owners in Pretoria / Centurion region. Would like to chat about this specific bike. Preferably someone with a M size frame.
Have you tried contacting Barry Crouse? He is the sales manager for Pyga and has a Pascoe in his fleet.
Pm for his number if you don’t have it
ye, not one of the lucky one's yet... with me down in JBay and not in Jhb atm.
G
G any idea on when you guys will be getting them?
10 years ago I got back into riding after a few years carb loading (achieving said mammal status) looked at the market, everybody and their dog where riding Epics, I got an Epic...rode it for a few months, swore a lot, swapped it for a Stumpy and a few years later to a Camber
I moved away from Spec when the Camber was dropped but am thinking of going the Evo route now.
Is it only when Specialized release new bikes that people loose their sh!t over the prices and these arguments start?
I didn’t follow the Cannondale thread but I recall these same arguments last year....and the year before..????
Seems new bikes released into the market make some people cross and some people happy
Ahh yes, that jealousy thing...it’s a wonderful beast
The SLX version is “only” R78k. So not really R190k. What would the frameset options be? See the previous now “old” frameset sells for R40k.
That’s the problem, they only offer the Sworks as a frame only option at R65K for the 2021
It looks seriously odd, if a non so serious MAMIL rocks up in the washing bay with his R200k bike, just before the sun sets.
Hahaha I see what saying
I can’t afford to ride a 200K bike but would love to have a yellow S-works in the lounge, I love bikes and don’t care what people think.
And no I don’t have an ego issue either
Why is that important?
If you have the cash and want the bike, go for it. Where you place in the results is irrelevant.
100% Agree
If you drive a M3 it doesn’t mean you a full time racer so why can’t people ride nice bikes if that’s their passion.
These comparisons always come up with bicycles and motorbikes.
It would be interesting to know where the most money and time is spent on R&D between the two industries.
I would think the cost of competitive gain in the cycling industry is way more than the motorcycle industry because the margins of gain are so much smaller, a few hundred grams on a bicycle makes a bigger difference than on a motorbike for example.

Word is Emily is going to Canyon. Saw something on Instagram about her hubby having team in 2021 or something like that.
Not a surprise her Trek contract wasn’t renewed if I’m honest
