  1. I see she has a “breaking my silence” interview tomorrow, I wonder if retirement is on the cards
  2. in my experience you do spin out with MTB gearing. I used my MTB for a few months on the kickr and like you say the flat roads sucked. It’s not unusable, just frustrating trying to stick to groups or make any decent times. I got an entry level road bike now that lives on the trainer and it’s a lot better.
  3. This popped up on my Facebook feed this Afternoon https://www.facebook.com/162314320601315/posts/1517422118423855/?d=n
  4. Hated my 530, sold it after a a few rides and went back the Roam. GPS was terrible, constant dropping and rerouting. Build quality was terrible, felt like it belonged in the toy isle at PicknPay. Functionality and usability is much better on the Roam. Wahoo just works, easy to use on the bike and easy to setup I’ve owned many many Garmin bike computers over the years and won’t be rushing back after my experience with the 530 and using a Wahoo product . Wahoo for me
  5. Got to wonder if Ironman as a company are going to be able to pull through all of this lost income from all the cancelled events this year. 200 million dollars debt in 2019 and 2020 not going to help them lessen that
  6. Thanks for the feedback guys, looks like it may be better to spend more and get something different
  7. How guys finding their 4iiii power meters? I’m thinking of pulling the trigger on one
  8. Unless you directly involved in these events I’m afraid a post on the hub is not going to get anything changed. These posts pop up almost annually on the hub, everybody throws their panties out the crib and has a moan but majority continue to enter these events regardless. Personally I do a handful of events these days compared to what I did a few years ago. Organisers are at the point where they can take the p!ss out of events and know that they will still get numbers. I saw an event advertised on Facebook charging R700 for a 40km or 50 km track?? Some races use bike parks and just add a few KM’s extra single track and charge R300-R400 more than a day entry to the park costs.
  9. As a kid I used to spend hours in CNA lusting over Bianchi bikes in the cycle mags. Yesterday I got to bring one home....and lust over it in the lounge
  10. Hey guys, need some advice on treadmills. The Nordic brand that sporsmanswarehouse sells, are they any good? Any other recommendations around the 20-25K price point? Thanks
  11. Best money I have spent for on the bike tools Blackburn switch tool wrap https://bikemob.co.za/collections/tools/products/blackburnswitchwrapmultitool
  12. How safe is cradle moon to ride alone? Thinking of heading there on the weekend
  13. I have finally reached that stage in life where I have to respect the environment and accept Lycra and my body were not meant to be. I took the plunge and got a baggy pant. Now the problem I am finding is getting free ride type shirts to ride in. I managed to find a xxl fox ranger shirt at CycleLab only to get it home and find a big hole under the arm. Fox no longer seems to bring cycling clothing into SA so getting a replacement is a no go. What other brands are guys buying? And the xxl guys what are you riding in? Im at the point of just getting loose fitting jogging shirts as I can’t find any cyclin branded shirts
  14. There is an interview on pink bike (I think) where a Santa Cruz designer said that in 5 years time he expects up to 50% of their new bikes will be e-bikes...it will be a sad day if that is genuinely the way the industry is going
  15. The real question is does Biogen Naugat really make you faster....
  16. I also use Zwift a lot and recently went the TrainerRoad route. I find the training programs easy to follow and easy to adjust to fit in with your lifestyle. I am only a month in but really enjoying it. Nice thing is you can opt to push the workout to your Garmin and do the session as an outdoor session. I connect to Zwift and TrainerRoad at the same time so you still get the social part of Zwift combined with the structured training from TR. Only thing that's a bit crap is no trial period so you have to sign up from the start.
  17. Do you own a 650b and are considering the Rs1 as an upgrade or do you own an Rs1 and are looking at going 650B?
  18. +1 for Marcel. Very happy with my setup after seeing him
  19. I was actually listening to a trainerroad podcast about it last night. Definitely on the list...when I'm 20kgs lighter and much much fitter
  20. Just to get a patent on a frame is over USD300k I believe. That's before moulds and materials etc. The last conversation I had with Pyga staff was that the frame will only be available end of year anyway, lots can change in that time. The first 50 guys who go in the first batch are smiling right now I'm sure Pat doesn't build rubbish so we know it's going to be something special. R75K special we don't know yet. I'm happy on my Stage...going to have to be:) I have started a project to build a Epic Evo, and the s-works frame cost me 60K
  21. I paid R6000 for a budget new road bike, Avalanche something. I wish hadn't. Buying something like this even for R4000 is better than going the budget route in my opinion.
  22. There was a 1000 at Cash converters near me last year that went for R3500. This one looks cleaner than that.
  23. Unless you were lucky enough to get the first batch you need to have very deep pockets to buy the Mobu when it's fully released. Numbers I got told after the initial batch are in the R70K region for a frame....
