Just as an aside, whatever happened to TNT1? or did he just change his name and I dont know.?

I liked him, although we never met we had some great discussions on all sorts of stuff, we didn't always agree but he was always ready to see both sides in my view, I always enjoyed his posts and seen as he started what must be the longest and most well frequented thread here I just wondered if he was still around.?

wasn't there a rol between him and the ninja about something that was 'borrowed' and not returned? Or was that someone else?

I'm happy to say my 8 year old daughter can write in cursive. They are taught it at school, which surprised me. I thought it was a dying writing form

My first response was (meant to be) tic.  Your comment, trying to incorrectly correct me?  That was grammar nazi'ism!

Didn't try to correct you.  It was a question.  As English is not my first language I will make mistakes in it. I have been corrected many times here before and I actually do appreciate it.  The reason I asked you (not corrected you) is because I was not sure and applied the spelling rules as I remembered them.  Myles and one other were kind enough to tell me exactly where I made my mistake.

Probably because the SAAF only have old aircraft... ;)

Ok, not strictly true, but it's even sadder with the new stuff (like Gripens) being mothballed because we don't have enough type rated pilots

We also don't have people to maintain them. I actually don't know how they got registered in the first place. Would have thought the SACAA would have queried it when they would have to be the ones who issue licenses for those aircraft type. We have issues with guys getting B777, B787, A380, A350 etc licenses because there are no ZS registered aircraft of that type. Then the same applied to 747-400 when our last 2 (ZS-SBS and ZS-SBK) left. They were the last 2 ZS registered jumbo's so if you already had the license it was cool because we still do work on foreign 400s but if you apply for a new license it was a mission. Part of the license requires OJT so our guys need to go overseas to do OJT.
