Not harmless, it's panic inducing, shorts-soiling creepy as hell, stuff of nightmares...

How those people are not running and screaming for their lives is beyond me.. they must be mannequins.

Edit:

Correction, it looks more like a lasiodora klugi (common name = Bahia Scarlet Birdspider) mature male, harmless....

 

The Lasiodora klugi is a tarantula endemic to Brazil. Its common name refers to the state of Bahia. The species grows from 8 to 10 inches in size and looks similar to Lasiodora parahybana. Wikipedia
