Best the folk in blouberg hold onto their hats then.

100km/hr wind gusts expected Monday/Tuesday

Best you lot keep your pets inside.

Probably one of the properties on Kleinbaai below the Blue Peter. l saw last weekend that they closed that road and put concrete barriers up, probably with big winter storms in mind. Quite a few times in the past those houses got damaged by big waves that came up over the road and smashed windows.

(I must say my ramshackle old Victorian place (not in Blouberg) sure sounded like it was trying to take off on a rough runway last night!

I believe it was in the vicinity of On the Rocks restaurant.

That street, and the bit between Ons Huisie and Kleinbaai has got to be one of the most stupid places to own a house, if not for the spectacular views. I live about 3 km away, and I can't tell you how many times either the waves or the wind does a number on those properties.

Insurers must be coining it on that stretch

From charging a premium tariff for damage caused by natural occurances such as wave damage. The beach is steadily eroding away along that stretch of coast, yet folks keep encroaching. In the video clip, look closely and see how close the water's edge actually is.
