Not to sure how the mutt managed it, but he has a big slice in the back of his leg. Either he got it running in the dam or most probably at home where he jumps off 6 flights of stairs in one go and misjudged his landing. The wound was almost healed until yesterday afternoon when he started to lick it.

Now he is banging into everything around the house. It's bloody painful when he walks into your leg

Shame man.

They do silly things sometimes

ah the cone of shame .....

just remember to lift his bowl off the floor as they cannot reach into the bowl with that collar on.

Or you can take the collar off - remember to put it back on again.

He has settled down with it. We have been using them for years with our various dogs. It's the first time he has had one. He has now learnt to re-navigate the house

Haha the collar of shame took me about 20mins and some serious wrestling to get on my boxer as tight as it could go) when he was fixed. Took him less than 30 seconds to get out of it.

Luckily he didn't lick the wound.

I found with our girl that if you line the rim of the cone of shame with gorilla tape it limits the amount of damage the cone can do to you and the rest of the house ... it also dulls the sound the cone makes when it scratched on something.

You line up the edge of the cone with the center of the roll of tape and work your way around ... one layer will work, but two is better.

it also helps if you tape down the tips of the retention tabs if they hook or tend to come loose.

So our young mutt has developed a liking to cycling socks. We keep missing the socks, only to find them as droppings in our back yard.

Be careful if it's made of synthetic material. We lost our one dog due to the polyester fibers causing internal bleeding. It wasn't pretty.

No doubt that Stella is going to take to water like a fish Labrador

Cute man! This is our Labby, Mila, the day she came home with us. I had to bolt a sink to the wall because the boxer kept oveturning his drinking bowl and would be left waterless the whole day. Mila saw this as the perfect little splash pool. Funny enough she is not the avid swimmer of the two...

Visited my sister in Somerset West this weekend and this Lab of theirs sleeps on her back, unbelievable. I've never seen it before.d4a175ee9fc95a859c7942311996cc49.jpg

I think doggos get so comfortable with their humans that all their instincts fly out the window. I don't think any animal will sleep like this in the wild...

Mine sleep like this when it gets hot. They will often find a cool spot on the tiles, next to a wall, and pass out like this. Reminds me of a dead cockroach.
