So far, the souls departed who played in the '95 World Cup are:

All Blacks:

Jonah Lomu at age 40; 18 November 2015

Springboks:

Coach Kitch Christie, age 58; 22 April 1998

Ruben Kruger, age 40; 27 January 2010

Joost van der Westhuizen, age 46; 6 February 2017

James Small, age 50; 10 July 2019

Chester Williams, age 49; 6 September 2019

Too soon, all of them. May they rest in peace.

My mom asked us last night, and I'm not implying anything please, why are most of them dying because of heart failure/heart attacks?

My mom asked us last night, and I'm not implying anything please, why are most half of them dying because of heart failure/heart attacks?

Only Lomu, Small and Williams passed away from a heart attack, of which Lomu's was linked to his kidney disease.

Kruger (brain cancer) and Christie (leukaemia) and Joost (motor neuron disease).

So it's not most, but half.

so whats the thoughts on the small clash on Saturday

Highlight of the entire pool stage imho.

Not a trainsmash if we don't beat them but we are definitely in there with a chance.

Should do our confidence a world of good if we can pip them on Saturday.

i too think there will only be 5 or less points in it after 80mins (maybe even a draw )

Boks are looking solid on paper. I only worry about the center combo but to be fair Damian duhduh has been half decent this year.

Its gona be a epic clash. Dont think it will be a try fest and the boot will play a pivotal roll in who takes this 1.

cannot wait!

Twice in a few weeks would be asking a lot

Read an interesting point on the likelihood of weather playing havoc on some crucial games. If the game can't be played, then it's a draw. There are no reserve days for rainy days.

So, things could interesting when favourites play the minnows and a BP win a given. Instead, the weather blows in and both teams get 2 points. So here's a scenario:

Team A beats Team B by less than 7, and get 4 points for the win, but no BP for tries.

Team A beats 2 other teams, but only one is a BP win while the last games is abandoned due to weather - both teams get 2 points.

Team A score 4 + 5 + 4 + 2 = 15

Team B gets 1 BP for losing by 7 to Team A, and also no BP for tries.

They beat all other teams with a BP - no bad luck with the weather.

Team B score 1 + 5 + 5 + 5 = 16

Team B, although losing to team A still finish top of the group, courtesy of the weather.
