Kom Posted October 6, 2021 Share Pics of the actual contents still coming, but before that I thought I’d share what is probably the most “interesting” way I’ve seen a bike shop pack a bike for shipping (the assumption here was that they didn’t want to remove the dropper post, so thought it less risky to have the entire post seat outside the box ???????????? The clutch gets "sticky" after a few hundred km, and you need to service it very regularly. Now to see if the magic Shimano formula last longer .... I was there on Saturday, when I asked about the grease (as I have done for the last year) Naas looked on the system and Shimano (or their distributors) had, so Naas booked FIVE units. Based on the email, and their website at 7:00, either they only got 1, or some were pre-sold. So when I spoke to Janos at opening time I quickly bought that one unit Nice little climb from the N1 Durbanroad to Evobikes .... Hairy

EDIT .... you had me checking my "stock" .... I have an old tub of grease I bought very long ago at a cycling shop, not even sure what it is, but knows it works very well for the general wheel bearing services, etc. Few years back I bought a new tub of grease, apparently some sort of lithium grease. I then opened the new magic Shimano grease and "felt" the lithium vs Shimano grease between my fingers. YES, the lithium DO feel "thicker", possibly higher viscosity. The Shimano feels VERY soft to the touch ... ja-ja, hardly a scientific term, even less so a scientific test, but the two definately feels different. The real test will be to clean the derailure of the old grease, apply the Shimano grease and TEST if it last longer ....
