I'm sure it will be water proof like all their products. Their products are really awesome and I'm sure good research goes into all their products before they marked/sell them with their name attached to it.

Pieter is a very nice guy, give him a call and speak to him.

Cool. Will give him a call. I also like their products. Very Very good quality

I almost want to say back in the day, but lets rather keep it at a couple of years ago, bikes was cheap fun transport.

In my mind paying more for a bike than a car does not make sense at all. Can R&D really be that expensive? Or is it a case of lets see how much the suckers will pay?

Wouldn't be surprising. That's not even double the 1199, is it? And it's the base for the superbike WC.

And from HERE

Ducati has set the price for the Panigale V4 R at $39,995. It will arrive at dealerships March 2019.

I stand very much corrected, and very far behind the times as it turns out.

The standard V4 is R290k, the V4S R360k, so this price (sadly) makes sense.

Yoh but these prices have jumped

Well it is a homologation special, allowing them to "up" the starting base of their World SBK effort. It's an ultimate race bike (the Ducati test rider came within 4s of Chaz Davies' time who was on the full factory Superbike), which will unfortunately be confined to supercar garages and luxury mansions, not the race track as it is really intended.

Commute every day on a Harley Roadster. Rain or shine. Good for the soul.

I saw a few bikes out in that absolute squall we had moving through Joburg late yesterday afternoon. I salute you and your grit!

Wait until you see the price of the new 1250. Have some coffee ready...

I'd rather have some Brandy or something stronger to get my head around the prices of Dual Purpose bikes.
