Easy one....bicarb of soda from your friendly checkers...or you can buy it at 1000% times the price from your local dischem although it will come in a nice container with a flashly label saying like RaceExtremePumpV02TooLegitToQuit

Picture of said container and label?

Amazing have Daryl back in the saddle - racing.

Amen on that - who really cares what actually happened? None of us will ever know the truth (if there is even a truth other than the dirty chemist).

Awesome to have another saffer in/back in the peleton.

I see the commentators had good things to say about Louis Maincheese at the Vuelta yesterday - he took some fine scalps.

Hmmm Maincheese - if that sticks I'm gonna claim rights. You heard it here first!

What puzzles me is why society must always find someone to blame. Use this as an example to improve for the future.

SAIDS did their job - they found something illegal in Daryl's pee and followed due course.

Could it have been done quicker that it took? Who knows, all the facts are not known - blaming the lab for taking their time because an employee passed away is just adding to the problem.

Daryl is unfortunately in a sport with a history of doping, so being slung through the mud is always going to be a part of being in the sport. It's going to take a long time before society is convinced that doping no longer exists.

Why should the pharmacist be blamed? He is human and made a mistake - albeit a small one with big repercussions on someone else's life.

Exactly! Look at that piece of sh*t CONTador... He went to eat at a local restaurant (while doping the cr@p out of himself), then when he was caught for doping, he blamed the beef (played the blame game) and threw the local beef farmer under the bus. The beef farm was closed down and chances are the farmers life was in ruin thereafter while Contador came back from cheating to continue making millions.

He found a way to get off ~ good for him. In the eyes of Joe Public, all is well and not all cyclists are dopers. That's great. I'm happy for cycling.

But in the real world, a pharmacist (possibly) has a trace amount on his hands, then (possibly) contaminates empty capsules which Daryl then handles further to fill with bicarb, then takes a couple and tests positive?

No. Sorry, I don't believe it.

yeah, great news. hope he sues SAIDS for damages

Ummm maybe the chemist is the real guilty party, why shouldn't they / he / she be sued as well?

Maybe the commentator was also a pharmacist in SA?

Ahhh sheet.

I heard the "SA champion" comment - glimpsed the white jersey and didn't think twice. Doh!

Somewhere at the back of my mind I was wondering how Pardilla was so high up when I didn't see him finish but was too stoked to "see" Maincheese that high.

Sad but I reckon we'll be hearing exactly that line in a few years!

I've got a genuine made in switzerland flame suit for rent and it also has a parachute that can be used when you want to jump off the high horse you are going to be told to get off from in the near future

There are two seperate issues here.

1. Doping, blood work, any form of artificial performance enhancement over one's genetic makeup or medical treatment plan to restore hormone levels. Call it whatever you want.

2. The administration of SAIDS. Some commentators have suggested they followed due process. Lets understand this process better please. Anyone in the know please give some info into how this case could rationally have taken as long as it did to give the report on the findings of the blood work and tests? Do they grow a culture and wait for that to sprout before taking their markings??
