PS. One doctor suggested I stop running, I started laughing and told her it is not an option.

You should report quacks like this. Clearly she knows nothing about the human body let alone the sporting human's body.

It sounds very similar to what I am experiencing, I just don't vomit. I just feel very nauseous.

I would suggest you go see a specialist to do a gastroscopy. I know Nexium does help, so maybe it will help you.

I can handle nausea, the vomiting just leaves me with no food or fluid in my body and then it is a downward spiral...

I am seeing a sports specialist so hopefully there will be no nonsense of not running.

I have heard of nexium from someone else, might just try that as well. thanks.

I have no heartburn either.

But I have had sudden onset nausea and vomiting a few times, usually when pushing hard 4-5 hours into an event.

Usually just a slight nausea and then the first heart rate spike when am nauseous and boom stomach decides to clear contents boom done. Then I have to fight for a few hours to restock and get back on track and even them I am behind the 8 ball.

This sounds exactly like what I had. Gastroscopy showed nothing and in the chat afterwards with the specialist, the truth was revealed in that I had my gall bladder removed many a year ago and this is now causing quite common repercussions.

Drinking ulsanic now to control the bile pushback into the stomach (because of the lack of the gall bladder) and it seems to work. Quite sure I was more happy to find the cause than the fact that the gastroscopy was (in the end) done unnecessarily.

Anyone ever had a blocked sweat gland under the arm? My gawd what incredible pain. Noticed it the day before Dublin marathon. Was a like a little itch. Did the marathon and in the Tuesday it started to get annoying. By the Friday I was ready to kill and went in to see the doc. Antibiotics and it's slowly getting better. Was like a big hard boil under my arm. Unreal pain. He reckons it was from the repetitive training and the rubbing. The marathon obvs made it worse. In case anyone has one...He also told me you leave it alone and don't fiddle with it. Antibiotics is the only way to go

Was getting something similar recently. Think it was from my deodorant that contains aluminium that blocks your skin pores - Stops you sweating.

Started doing intervals for the first time yesterday and amazing what you can achieve in under 25 minutes and be completely buggered.

Did a total of 6km's with a pace of 3:30min/km for 1-2 km's, rest was just under 4min/km. Short jogging breaks in between with a warm up and warm down.

At least I'm not alone! Doctor told me they if you fiddle with it, it become more of a common occurrence. I'm not running until it's completely gone

I was too scared to fiddle.

I remember getting it after Iron Man in 2016. Luckily I needed a rest!

Question for the comrades gurus.

Which comrades program do you follow or do you just stick to what you know works for you?

What do you recommend for a noob, should I get a coach or do I just follow a general program?

Obviously my goal is to aim for a finish.

As a noob I followed the coach Parry program. Not 100% but as a guideline. Work well for me.

Know one guy in my club is training for comrades and is just running on average 80km a week every week. Will ask him. I honestly thought it was too soon for him to be putting on so many kms.

Edit. I only do half marathons right now. Not an expert at all.
