Shaper posted an interesting article on running at or below aerobic threshold while training for peak gains - a link to the post:https://community.bikehub.co.za/topic/153222-cyclists-with-a-running-problem/?p=3478916

What I'm wondering, is without training daily, which I suppose could work with zone 2 training etc, but how do you reach 900/1200 weekly vitality points when most exercises will be awarding 100 points, perhaps 200 for longer exercises if even. Only solution I can think of is to still squeeze in some 80% hr exercises for both points and... conditioning, I guess.

What do you all think? Starting to sound to me like Vitality just want people to exercise hard and save them some money in sickness and what else, not encourage people to be smart athletes?

I personally only joined vitality for the flights and gear discounts really - never thought for a second that they'd know what performance training really entails.

I need 1200 points a week as endurance athlete and I hit my target quiet easily with a ride on Saturday and Sunday which gives me 600 points for each ride. During the week I do a further four rides either on my trainer or part of on the road plus gym sessions. Regularly get 2000+ points a week.

Touching on an old Point. I am not a Garmin user, and will not be a Garmin user. I want to use the equipment that suits my needs - So it is a Suunto.

Therefore, if you use Garmin reading further about my frustration is pointless. Every now and again, Discovery breaks their own system and then they do not recognize speed data, or power data, time data, or HR data. And then it is the one excuse after the next until they manage to fix it a month or so later.

While this is going on the call centre agents are relatively pro-active to try and sell me the benefits of Garmin and if I was using a Garmin device I will not be experiencing this issue. We know that Discovery works on the model of disruption and their whole business model is based upon behavioral manipulation. Do they use their position of power to not just disrupt our behavior, but are they not also being anti-competitive by 'forcing' their customers to all use Garmin product?

I brought some US $ in from overseas - it cost me $ 25 per wire in from the source and R 675 per transfer locally (charge from my own bank - RMB)

For submitting an electronic transaction. This is as simple as going to an ATM and drawing money - all done on the web.  R 3075-00 transaction fees in total for 3 x transfers.

Roll on the day they close bricks and mortar banks - this is usury. Banks are a social tax

I have been using Garmin for quite a couple of years and never experienced these issues, Touch wood.

is anyone having the same problem. The last few occasions I've sync'ed my swim sessions I get 100 discovery points for speed data and not the 300 for an hour session over 70% max HR. It's as if they've stopped looking at the HR. I've had to email them my session to update the points correctly

you'd think with all the nonsense with this, they'd accept .fit files from their 'points claim' portal... but no...

just spoke to discovery and they are aware of a problem with suunto devices and HR readings that are not being pulled through. Apparently there will be a fix around the 12th of the month and they are doing daily checks of suunto points and correcting but people may obviously be missed. So send in a screen shot of work outs until the 12th and hopefully it's fixed after that

Just received a message on my phone notification center that Walden (not my name) received a reward for achieving his fitness goal.

I wonder if Discovery is so excited about my achievements that other people receive notifications about me??

anyhoo, s'pose it's just a glitch in the matrix, nothing more to see here...

Sounds like a glitch from a vitality group thing? I didn't even know they sent sms's for achieving fitness goals, thought only app notifications!
