Correct. But I'm saying that my main goal is the Tron bike, secondary being the double XP. Is the ToW over yet?

Nope, they’re currently on stage 4 of 5, and the catch up week is still to come.

Again do not forget FulGaz

Not focussed on big social rides with other users but great software and great videos (A LOT!!)

And they were acquired by IronMan (BIG company that also owns the Cape Epic)

Doesn’t work well on my 2012 MBP; graphics too much for that old workhorse.

What is MBP?
Something does not sound right. I do not think FulGaz uses or requires a graphics card at all (unlike Zwift).  You have a few choices:

1. Stream whilst riding with HLS switched off (i.e. it will stream the video quality you select 720P/1080P/4k). The slower your internet speed, the lower quality you must select. If you select too high a quality for your internet speed - video will likely pause often to buffer.

2. Stream whilst riding with HLS enabled (aka Netflix mode. It will attempt to stream at the video quality you select but if your internet speed is too slow, it automatically downgrades the quality to something your bandwidth can handle).

3. Download video at the quality you want and let PC play it whilst riding (i.e. no internet needed)

You can run FulGaz in a fairly mediocre system and it should run fine.

MBP = MacBook Pro (i5 processor). I also can’t install any OS later than Catalina. I only use this Mac as I have a MacOS WKO5 licence.

I can't use my work laptop; admin rights and non-work related software policy.

Oh the MacNaartjie Machine! No sympathy from me buddy! ☠️

Get Intel and an old 2005 P3 running Windows 8 and it will likely still run Fulgaz perfectly 🤣

Luckily I don’t need entertainment to satisfy my training needs, so no need for any fancy systems. The only reason I use Rouvy/Zwift is for the elevation gain on the routes I ride on; and the controllable factor of custom workouts.

Okayyyy .... not sure if this question belongs in the Zwift thread or in the KickrCore thread ....

My KickrCore is almost 3 years old, low milage as it is only used during rainy times.  I much prefer riding outside.

It is connected to a NUC PC, and I use an Ant+ dongle.  The dongle is next to the front wheel, and would need a USB extender cable to move further back, but as I have not had connection issues before I have left it like this.

The system have been 98% stable during the last couple of years.

The NUC used to run on Win8.  December I started getting messages from Zwift that they wont be supporting Win8, and that I should upgrade to Win10 .... I hung in until it would not start Zwift, then did the software upgrade.  By the way, the NUC is only used for this purpose and runs no other software.

I have done a couple of Zwift rides since the Win10 upgrade, and the system worked fine (except for a slower boot up)

Last week the heart rate monitor would not pick up .... I removed the battery, realised I had used my spares, put the old battery back, and the system worked fine - RED FLAG ONE ....

Last night the system worked 100%.

Tonight I had the time of my life to get Zwift to work.  Or rather for Zwift to see the heart rate monitor, cadence sensor and the Kickr .....  It would keep dropping one of the three ....  It took me almost 30 minutes before I could start the ride, and then Zwift was buffering like I have never seen before.  During the ride the hear rate monitor started losing connection after 5 minutes, it would reconnect intermittently and then fall away again .... later the cadence sensor started doing the same .... thankfully it did not drop the Kickr and I got to finish the ride, and save it.  Clearly something was not lekka .....

The NUC links via wifi.  No, I did not think to check the internet speed at the time.

Thus the question : "What could have caused the connection issues tonight?"

- Win10 doing stuff in the background ?  (maybe just start the NUC earlier and let Win10 do its stuff before starting Zwift)

- Possibly a slower than usual internet connection ?

- Would a LAN-cable be better than wifi connection ?  (minor shlep, but easy to do for the few rides I do on the IDT)

- I have bought batteries, and will replace the heart rate monitor battery .... though it would be strange if the cadence sensor battery decided to act up at exactly the same time .....  At least it is easy to remove these two items from the list of questions.

- position of the Ant+ unit ?  Some sources suggest it should ideally be close to the crank, but this have not been an issue for a few years .....  (maybe a combination of this and 3 year old batteries?)

- or is it just the phase of the moon and all will be alligned again tomorrow ....

Nice when these toys work ..... less so tonight ... :P

Periodically misbehaves for me too. Switched to bluetooth which worked for a while then stopped working well. Switched back to ant plus and that was fine for a bit until it wasn't. Currently back on Bluetooth.

Could not figure out the problem. Ever.

Yes and yes.

Do you connect a combination of ANT+ and BT?

There is no need for a cadence sensor as the Core has a built in one, so perhaps remove that altogether.

Zwift drove me dilly with this kind of silliness. Then it drove me away. Now I use SYSTM and I am less dilly now and the world is a nicer and brighter place.

I should point out that the issue could have been with the squishy bit between my ears, so perhaps I gave up my Tron bike for nothing. Or did I?

I'm on Apple so it has a good native BT, that works.

When I used my Garmin HRM, using ant+ only, I had endless problems with it picking up the signal, even though I was using the Garmin ant+ dongle in the USB port and it showed as paired. Now with a Polar H10, I have my HR data in Zwift, Rouvy, the Wahoo app (haven't registered on SYSTM yet) and Breakaway app.

@ChrisF I'm not sure how reliable the BT connections are on your windows-based computer. I wouldn't recommend buying a BT dongle, as I haven't tried it myself so don't know if it works or not. They are quite pricey too.

Once you have it it doesn't go away, unless you cancelled your subscription instead of pausing it..
