I'd rather get Vermote, he'll sit on front for the entire race and chase down every single team in front of him, because the break won't survive

We already have a rider that can rip our legs off. . Was thinking Chris will get us more insta likes [emoji12][emoji23][emoji23]

I'd get Nibali, he would just hold onto a car, and then each team can just grab a pocket, we could free wheel all the way.... #Sub4

      Good one! At least Chris has some experience with that as well, so they can each grab onto a side, reduces the length of the line ;)

And Moscon to eliminate the competition.

Hope one of you include a Viviani is a lekker guy in your race report..how on earth do these teams manage to get these big names in their teams..bit it is way cool.

While it's never nice to see a fellow cyclist standing on the side of the road with a puncture, I have to say that a small part of me was quite relieved (it was short lived relief as my own hell was about to begin) when we saw the Sky kit clad figure of Viviani trying to figure out how to fix a puncture...

I believe there is one guy that has done all 25 DC's to date. Now even guys that have done DC 10-14 years ago will argue that the event that has been put up the past 5-8 years is still not "The Real McCoy". The original event had no "free feed zones" i.e. stop where you want when you want if you wanted to. The route ended with Tradouw Pass now imagine climbing that beats after 190km's in the legs.

Pfft - the real DC was a solo event from the Drakenstein Prison, over Franschhoek Pass to Villiersdorp and back. There might have been one or two refreshment stations along the way, but it was pretty much each man/woman for themselves.

Then there was Ceres - Theronsberg Pass after 160kms is not for the faint hearted!

To be fair he did bury himself for the team until he exploded.

I exploded. Twice. And still finished... (as did 6 other riders in my team)

In the last 5kms I spotted you & seemed like you were in a world of pain, thought of many lines I wanted to chirp you but every time I backed out thinking to myself now is not the time. Well Done, you still finished in under 5 hours.

Thanks Milky4130 - I was in pieces. Luckily I had Halfway for company (a nickname he earned because he once bailed at halfway during the DC), otherwise I think I would have gotten off my bike and cried myself to sleep in the gutter.

You could have probably said anything to me and I would have just given you a blank stare - my brain was so consumed with the cacophony of cramps running up and down my legs (and my fingers - at one point I couldn't take my hands off the bars as they had cramped on tightly!!) that there wasn't much brain power left for normal things like conversation.

Now you make me worry.

If a guy that has won the 24 Hours Of Oak Valley can suffer this much in a 202km road race, I don't even wanna know about the DC.

Pfff... I keep tweeting Chris asking if he wants to come hammer in Swellies. Offered him Steri stumpies and fines for his stem staring!

Froome rode with us in the Northcliff Cycles mixed team in 2011.

This was the same year he finished second at Vuelta while nursing Wiggins.
