Jip ordered. Should recieve this week. I will post a pic

Will you use it regularly or just on mega long rides?

Ps. Have you ridden since Munga?

My strategy for saddle sores if I did the munga.

Actual brand of bib not that important. It working for you very very important. This can only be done with testing. I ride with first ascent mainly, but that's just me.

Way way more important than bib make is bib cleanliness. I would have two pairs, and one gets rinsed at end of each day. It will dry on your backpack/saddle bag in no time.

Way way way way way way more important than bib is saddle. It needs to work for you, can also only be done with testing. You don't necesarily use what nino uses for 2 hr xc race, or even what lakata uses for marathon. You need to see what the RAAM and TD okes are on and start from there. For me this is the Murray orthopaedic saddle. It is the ugliest piece of carbon you can have on a bike, but damn does it work for me.

Get a bum lubing process- less can be more. due to my saddle working so well I've stopped using bum lube most of the time. I don't think I would get away with that in munga.

This strategy might not work for everyone, but would be my starting point.

I think Alex riding meant Erik was busy with all the logistics. So he wasn't with his camera.

Well that was the difference I saw

Yip, that's pretty much spot on...

Media coverage is everything if you want to grow an event - no matter how good something is, if you don't create the necessary interest through visuals and other means, the growth will remain slow. Like I said somewhere earlier in the thread, this event, and these guys deserve better. The Cape Epic from the start was a master of getting their event out there... 4/5 photographers full time for the 8 days. High quality images available to all the media daily. Now days we have live visuals from on the route.

They are different animals for sure (Epic & Munga) but if you want to ever get that million dollar carrot on the finish line, people need to be asking you at braais if you've ever done the Munga.
