Captain Fastbastard Mayhem Posted September 22, 2017 Posted September 22, 2017 I'll give it a listen some time. Just clarifying.. I'm not talking about "Chinese carbon vs the real deal" here. I'm taling about a seal manufacturer, who is obviously one of the very best in the world and therefore chosen by Fox to manufacture their seals.yes, and I agree. But - here's the thing. They (SKF) will have different price levels, correlating to the tolerances, materials and finish of their various products. They don't just make ONE type of seal / wiper, they make the ones that they sell under their own name (retail) and then the ones that they make for other companies based on how much they want to spend.
Quagga Posted September 22, 2017 Posted September 22, 2017 Not even vaguely I'm afraid. What proof would be good enough for you? How many RS have we seen here with damage as bad a FOX? Not a lot.I have had both also, RS on one bike and Fox on the other, Fox broke......same maintenance and care.
MTBeer Posted September 22, 2017 Posted September 22, 2017 this thread is trying so hard to be a Friday thread. The Little Thread That Could (almost)...

It's not good enough to make blanket statements of product superiority based on how many you've personally used or are reported as booked in for service.

People here have stated their experience. With this logic, if someone had to ask you wich service provider their prefer what you would answer? m "Sorry no one has done an independant study on the Cell phone providers therefor NO-ONE can have an opinion" I have used Cell C, MTN etc and I can not state which one I found best?In my world word of mouth is often the BEST proof hmm love the logic...or lack thereoff
the nerd Posted September 22, 2017 Posted September 22, 2017 What about MRP forks... How do they hold up in the scheme of what lasts and what doesnt...

Odinson Posted September 22, 2017 Posted September 22, 2017 What about MRP forks... How do they hold up in the scheme of what lasts and what doesnt... No one has done an independent, peer-reviewed study, published in the quarterly 'Bicycle Fork Durability' journal, so WE DON'T KNOW.
Quagga Posted September 22, 2017 Posted September 22, 2017 "In my world word of mouth is often the BEST proof" You're not legitimately trying to be serious???No one is going to do a study on fork like that.....comparing two forks to proof which one has the better coating. So I am going to with what MOST people have experienced here, on the hub and their opinion. I have seen way to many FOX forks damaged to go out and buy one. Official independent study or not. Fox stantions are crap

MoreTrails Posted September 22, 2017 Posted September 22, 2017 What about MRP forks... How do they hold up in the scheme of what lasts and what doesnt...We have had a test fork that has been "abused" over the last 2 years, to see what happens, what goes wrong. To date seeing only a single major service in that time, it has been tough as nails with no signs of damage.
