Is that over a 3 year cycle?

I'm not clued up and don't really have the inclination to do the research.

I think NTT is a waste of money and a WT license. They behave like a big team but get no results and don't go up the road in futile breaks like the small teams.

They don't target a jersey, they just sort of exist in the peloton

and nay wins they get are in less-significant races. They have more wins this year and AG2R, but it doesn't seem that way

if the writing's on the wall, it's faded because it's been there a while

regrettably agreed.

I like the rotting inherited boat metaphor. As a sailor i saw lots of good money thrown at Team shosholoza at the America's cup where we never had a realistic hope. the long term trickle down benefits of that for the sport locally are extremely dubious (you can still see our boats literally rotting in Voortrekker road)

Just sucks for me that this avenue of top SA cyclists will now be pretty much closed.

And that my faith in this project also seems to have been misguided - https://www.theguardian.com/world/2009/jan/16/kenya-cycling-tour-de-france

Just saw on FB this morning that Doug is confident that a new title sponsor will be on board within the next week.

Still no guarantee though that they will stay in World tour or drop down to Pro.

reading between the lines...that is dropping to Proconti level

“When we announced that we needed a new partner, the response has been unbelievable from all over the world. Our social media presence has been incredible in terms of people just trying to support us,” Ryder went on to say. “We have people from America to Australia and everything in between loving this team and wanting to get involved, trying to make a difference, and trying to connect with us. It is tough in the world today economically, and some businesses are really struggling, and some aren’t. But we are very close to being on the road next year.”

Today (Thursday 5 November) will see the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) confirm the teams that have already submitted confirmed documentation for 2021, and Ryder says that right now time is of the essence: “This Thursday is an announcement of the teams which have submitted their documentation, and we will not be on that list. In the next couple of days, I think we should be able to say that we will have a plan to move forwards into 2021.”

So they don't want the licence (or couldn't get hold of it).

on the one hand that means it doesn't just disappear off to Copenhagen as Team Everything is awesome powered by Lego. my out there prediction Riis and co buy Astana! they only have 8 riders on the books for 2021 (and one of them is fuglsang). There's only one kazakh left so maybe whoever is footing these bills might be over it now (or is borat 2 going to spur them on again).

but i figure pro conti is probably where this will go for africa's team.

I assume that WorldTour minimum wage figure of €38k is the base wage?

With all the nights away on races and travelling, wouldn't allowances boost the basic quite a bit? (If S&ts are paid?)

I dunno how the minimum is calculated, and I assume the 7 or so riders still contracted to the team for next year (Campanaerts, Pozzovvivvo and co) will remain at their contracted salaries?
