whaha like only real men only have beards?

The way these men faff around with their beards is hardly a yardstick for manliness. Only girls care that much about their appearance.

A friend’s dad said; a man is not a man if he doesn’t have a *** streep in his underpants.

short (ie. just over ankle, never below) riding socks for the win.

beards?  you can keep your bacteria filled, old age home smelling, facial hair to yourself.

so are you "Step ahead sports" ?

On this point. I started a sock business too last year, because of the type of sock(non slip) which was mainly made for Football and cricket, and some rugby players use it too, We were forced to have it manufactured in China as nobody in South Africa has the machine to apply the non slip silicone to the socks.

Long story short, I designed my own sock, the lines used on my sock which would distinguish my socks from other non slip sock companies I designed myself, I have the drawings done in pencil with dimensions and everything, this was sent to the manufacturer and they made a few samples before we settled on a final product, fast forward 6 months down the line and a buddy of mine finds my exact sock design, same lines, same dimensions, EXACT SAME NON SLIP SOCK, minus my company name across the toe area of the socks, online on a chinese website selling them as "non slip basketball socks".. The factory themselves who manufactured our socks then manufactured a whole bunch more for a online store, nothing different to MY SOCKS WHICH I PERSONALLY DESIGNED besides that they left off my company name on the toe area!!

Point is, there is nothing which can be done really.. Like has been said before, Versus arent the 1st company to come with Jelly Bean socks and wont be the last, And like I was told, there is nothing I can do to the supplier who decided to sell MY design as their own...

Thats the problem right there. Out sourcing it to china or any other country. I can understand why etc, but the moment you get something made in china, you can forget about any copyright or trade mark.

A buddy of mine started up a business. He is also manufacturing but he took a huge risk and went and bought the machines to make his product.

is that why I see so many momsen frames on the china websites?

While it's a *** story, maybe those romours of Chinese carbon bits being sold out the back door aren't that bogus??

I'm pretty sure it happens. Maybe not with the big boys like Shimano, Spez, etc etc because they have the money and resources to go after those that knock off their products. And I am sure their business is too valuable to the factories they use for them to throw it away on side deals....

The smaller guys on the other hand get ripped off - no doubt in my mind about that.

Everything is made in china. Before China came along for global domination........

South Africa on its own was and still is extremely capable of designing and making goods to a very high std. The clothing industry lost itself when buyers started buying garmentsfrom china  instead of fabric from India and Korea to make to the garments. Similar has happened in many sectors as well as around the world.

Majority of our customers dont want stuff made in china, instead they buy the much more expensive item made in Australia or Poland. It is like a R10 item vs a R80 one.

Thats the sad part, and the only solution is to make the stuff yourself as apposed to outsourcing it. Alot more investment, but then you know it wont be copied until the opposition buys your goods and then take it apart to copy it. But then thats alot of R&D costs.

If everyone wore short socks like real men, we wouldn't be having this pointless debate.

Let me tell you a secret here quick sticks...

The reason they are performance socks isn't the foot part! Below is exhibit A, notice how he has completely omitted the foot part of his socks and actually lengthened his calf part. This is where the performance lies. The sock cartel has been lying to us for years. WAKE UP SHEEPLE

That's the plan.. We are already sourcing quotes.

My recollection is that what killed the local clothing industry was the removal of trade tariffs in that sector. The argument at the time in defence of that move was that our clothing was too expensive by world standards. Now we have cheap clothing and no clothing industry. Well, a very much smaller one.
