Ive heard dried peaches are quite good , caloric dense as well if im not mistaken

Makes a change from banana, absolutely worth a try,

Dried peaches with a large slice of fruitcake, sounds yum.

Biltong, nuts, bannanas, and date balls are my go to for natural food. Try this recipe from Wayne for date balls, easy to make and they hit the spot nicely.

This sounds lekker and will not be messy/sticky all over one's mouth and hands.

A banana is the most convenient on a bike that you can get. If you do not want that, ride and turn around before you bonk. You can also try banana bread and half water, half coke in my bottle. My go to fuel on 120km plus rides.

I buy plain cooked rice from the local Thai takeaway.

Mix with

1 scrambled egg

1 tbsp peanut butter

1 tbsp honey

Finely chopped crispy bacon (± 2tbsp)

Place I'm ziploc baggies and Bob's your uncle

That plus plain good old windpomp sherry, a banana and some trail mix gets me through some long rides

What a hassle

Sounds revolting as well

Good ol peanut butter or ham n cheese sarmie is a perfect eat on the bike snack too.

A PB Saamie is so easy and can be made the night before.

Perfect!

I've also moved from gels, goo's, etc to banana, dry wors, pb, butter & honey on brown bread etc. But any ideas for a long lasting emergency stash. I normally have an energy bar or roll of Super C's in the bottom of my bag (learnt the hard way).  These I guess have so much preservative they will become edible artefacts.

Any natural options?
