I made a box and whisker plot (with outliers) of the results by start group:

Pretty amazing how good they get the seeding for most of the riders. 

 

6F was the ebikes.

based on my race on the day, they had me spot on.

oke did some sub3 Argus rides in the 90s.

 

his average time for the past 10 years is about 5hours, with a best of 4:33 in 2018.

 

smashes his group 6C by 30minutes to get a 3:00:56

now maybe he hooked onto the back of some ebikes who were 2mins behind him. 

 

but ja. i dunno. the pictures on actionphoto are quite small, and it appears he is the sort of oke that has the nickname "tiny".

more worrying is that event organisers lied about Italians not coming over this year....

...and that he was basically in my start group...

...although he was probably in Simonstown by the time I crested NMBlvd

Sooooo glad we got to enjoy the CTCT before they started to cancel all the events

As much as I am too, I am also pretty sure we are still waiting for the corona virus fall out from the fun ride.

ok well it helps if he's got 400 000km of pro riding in his legs,

Just calculate it yourself as its base event, so beta be 1 and winning time is winning time (in theory)

 

(your time / adjusted winner’s time – 1) / beta

 

So (your:time/2:30:04) -1  

 

Example: Your finish time   3:08:04  

 

= ((3*3600+8*60+4) / (2*3600+30*60+4)) -1

= 11284/9004 -1

= 1.25 -1

= 25

They usually do the reseeding when it's needed ie in the week leading up to the race following the CTCT

Don't bank on that. LCE Challenge got a penalty as it was too short and too few entrants

the question was what seeding result is for CTCT .  Ctct beta is 1 so not used.
