Decided to do something I never thought that I could and build the counters and cupboards for my outdoor kitchen. Watched a lot of YouTube last week and built the frame for the main piece on the weekend. started off using a handsaw and then my jigsaw, but couldn't get consistency or  straight edge (with the jigsaw). So took the plunge and bought a Mitre Saw. So useful and suddenly more projects seem possible to me.

Sometimes you just got to believe and commit. Watch out, next you will be looking at other things and going how hard can it be?

In our previous house I built the entire kitchen as well. Same thing- a couple of youtube videos. I bought a dirt cheap table saw from adendorff and made a more consistent fence set up. It was a lot better than expected. Infact the cupboard carcasses being so straight made the floor's lack of level look so bad- thankfully we had planned to use some adjustable legs from gelmar. DIY home made concrete counter tops were also dead easy to make and worked out cheaper than the most basic melamine countertop. We then had a cupboard door place in PTA wrap some doors which made it look professional and it was also well priced.

I had a laugh at a youtube video I was watching on the trainer yesterday. The guy spoke about owning a mill and a lathe as being dangerous. He said once you have the workshop you walk into home depot, look at the taps(faucets) and think they look cr....p and you can make better. Then all of a sudden you are pulling all nighters and are suddenly a tap making expert. He reckons it is a slippery slope to start on.

One of our clients dabbles in various businesses ....

He decided to build a retirement facility .... NEW to the construction game ....

Time and again he would get his nickers in a twist about the price/look/functionality of some or other imported item ..... YES, time and again he would go out and MAKE it from scratch ....

And often he turns those spins offs into small sideline businesses .....

Sahmurai Sword tubeless plug set ...

I use these for a number of reasons:

1. Always at the ready

2. The reamer tool have been used many times !!!

BUT .... I want to use ErgoGrips on my HT roadie.

So now I am looking for a tubeless plug kit WITH a reamer tool.

Anybody know of an alternative product ?

Thanks

Ryder slug plug ?

The one bought (small plastic unit) only has the plug tool, no reamer tool.

They now have a tool that looks like a gas bomb ... very nice unit .... also no reamer (at least not on the unit I saw at Mark's).

We needed the reamer on the last three tubeless repairs.  So really want this.

hahaha! I already need a bigger garage. At the moment moving around in the garage is like one of those tile games

Move the bench to shift the mitre saw to get to the drill bits. That said, I have some garage organisation projects on the cards, which if success will be posted in the woodwork thread. And if not successful, they'll probably end up on there anyway, haha!

You won’t find a reamer with a slug plug or any of the Ryder Innovation tools.

Not quite sure what you need a reamer for? I’ve never used one and plugged many tubeless holes, successfully.  If anything, just use a bigger plug or more plugs. Bicycle tires are fairly soft and conform easily, unlike car tyres where reamers are used.
