How busy was it Duane? I avoided it today and rode Helderberg because I thought the traffic would be heavy. But even Helderberg was alot quieter than I expected. I am really itching for Jonkers tomorrow.

The entrance area was PACKED at 8.30. I'd actually suggest getting there at 9. By the time we got rolling after faffing with tires and tweedekak it was 9 and the queue was very thin.

 

That climb trail is a work of art. We just rode Phoenix and Armageddon. SO SO SO SO SO GOOOODDD!!

 

That place is every bit 10% as good as Morzine. That's a huge compliment coming from me.

You can park at The Hanger Bike Co (it's about 1km from the trails - just put it in Google maps). As things stand now the land owners have asked that we don't park on their farm.

 

You may have a problem with buying a day pass though because Hanger is closed on Sundays and as I understand the kiosk on the farm is closed too. There is an honesty box next ti the entrance of the kiosk on the farm, so just fill in the form and keep it on you. Day passes are R60 now.

That changed as of today, the Farm has officially reopened, day passes can be gotten at the kiosk until 5pm. Gates locked at 6pm.

is it just me, or the groups have never been as big as they are at the moment ? Yesterday I did a big loop from Hoogekraal to conties and bloemendaler, and from the entrance at hk there was already a group of 10+ riders, by the time I was at the skills park I was already passing another group of at least 6-7 riders. And it kept like that throughout the ride. Usually when I ride at tygerberg I see mostly duos, and sometimes groups of 3 to 4 riders but not often such large groups ?

 

This morning I went down to chapies on the road bike and it was ridiculous, groups of 20 riders using the whole road like they ******* own it... Luckily all the groups weren't that big every time, but it looks like poeple forgot they aren't alone out there... I spent the whole morning making my way around riders sometimes 3 side by side using the whole yellow line area and more, which is already a bit frustrating but it gets even dangerous when they do that on the ******* N1... come on guys... now we have to ride around you on the actual road with cars coming 130kph and more... **** off

I’m finding everywhere to be busy. Table mountain today was the busiest I have ever seen it no thanks to the geniuses who decided to close LH so you have everyone now on the mountain nice and packed. Also this glorious weather is to blame .
