That was fun, perfect weather conditions, friendly faces all round, my knobbies whêr-whêring on the tarmac - awesome ride.

Only issue was the lack of parking, I looked at the venue map and thought to myself - that's a bit tight. Sure enough when I arrived at 6am people were already turning around at the entrance. Found some parking next to the reservoir in Suikerbos way.

This was my 9th 99er and I think it's called 99er because if given 99 years it would have a different route each time. Only things that stay the same is the start and that finish up the hill.

I live about 2km away now and rode there but the cars were parked in the sidestreets/burbs all around, some about a km away. The smart ones parked in aurora at the finish by the little mall.

It was a speedy race...everyone did good times...pity it does not carry heavy weighting for CTCT. Did anyone receive their CTCT seeding yet?

I would think this race would carry the biggest weight as it’s the latest.

Started in ‘C for Cannondale’. A few kamikaze pilots from D managed to get onto the wheels. Punched my way up Adderley kicker with a few other bras and created a gap so I can safely blitz through the D’Urbanvale circle fest.

Another stunning day for rolling.

The whole of the D group joined C. Not that I had anything to do with it, I was just hanging on.

Hoping for a bit of a seeding boost but (a) not sure this will count towards CTCT and (b) the "beta" factor in the seeding equation will probably make this ride void anyway.

Either way, lovely day for a ride.

Ah, awesome, lekka lekka. Was spending sitting in the wheels near the front and saw a few okes from D with roleur engines in the mix at the front.

Sounds wise! There was a bit of chaos at the back.

$ was crazy...
I think the massive size of the group was a big risk by the organisers and they are lucky to have no big incidents. Those narrow roads from Malmesbury right to the end we ended up needing running road closure just to pass safely.

Checked results earlier

Crazy to see 100+ okes in 1 bunch for ride with zilch road closures

And the % group were less than 50

🤔
