geez, he's off to a malaysian team. that's a big step down. he is ranked out of the top 1000 uci riders, no great results with EF (but doesn;t mean he wasn't a team player)

Just didn’t perform as required last season. World Tour level is brutal. There just too many promising talents waiting in the wings.

If I'm not mistaken, Willie Smurf mentioned in one of his videos that good Continental riders can earn a lot more than average WT riders so maybe that was a consideration?
