Point taken

I have actually have raised this point with friends - with the ebike, starting in 2E, I may be faster up the hills and into the wind, thus potentially creating a slip for others ....

And yes, a pity for the 9:30 crowd that they are now loosing out just because it gets difficult to police the rest ....

I guess in 2E people will just be grateful for the opportunity to slip an ebike

Further up ahead Johnny trying to win 1F might not appreciate the ebike pulling the group back to him after every attempted break-away 😅

the info video they posted said no substitutions at the expo

It’s best to contact the race office and check if substitutions can be handled via email.

Shouting at them to keep left, while you are not even supposed to be there .... really ???

People really do that on their 2nd lap ? Isn't it supposed to be a social lap where you take the time to chat with your mates ?

yep. But it is the exception rather than the norm.

Have had it on a few occasions when I've started further to the back, some have been pretty rude about it.

You get people who like to brag about their "sub 3h30" second lap on social media or Strava.

Thing is anyone who have cycled at the back of the field or have done a second lap would know its impossible to do without being an inconsiderate ass to everyone around you

with a reduced entry demand I would HOPE that they would take people/subs at whatever the late entry fee is.

It just comes naturally for some, be it first or second lap, or just any Sunday morning ride. 🤦‍♂️

Agreed, but me thinks they’ve given up on printing numbers at the expo and are only set up to transfer numbers.
In 2023 this shouldn’t be a problem any longer. Maybe it’s just trying to create FOMO …?

It really should be a social lap .... but looking at the post race feedback of previous years it seems "some 2 lappers" were not playing nicely .....

Guess it is the age old story of the few spoiling it for the rest ....

Can confirm 2nd lap was social. This year will be the short route for me though
