What went wrong with 1A?... Seems you were a bunch of lazy wheelsuckers 😉

Both 1B and 1C had faster times and more sub-3s...

I think they had more roasties than 1B and 1C. :D

They should not allow e-bikes in the early bunches. Maybe from 5 they can seed them with the others. Most of the e-bikes in the bunches I rode in behaved. I started from 5D. Only few idiots I saw. Most of the issues I saw were bad cycle etiquette, but that is to be expected in the late bunches. The road from Smits is get more sketchy as the years roll by.

I was also surprised at the poor state of that section of road. Narrowly missed pothole at > 40 km/h in the oncoming lane. 🙈

Somethings broken with times. I am listed as 1B but started 1A, My time is 2min faster than I actually did too.

Started in 1F, was never going to cut it, injury forced me off the bike for 10 weeks under doctor and physio’s orders, only returned to training at the end of January, was expecting around 4 hrs, finished in 3h34 which was a pleasant surprise indeed,

Heard about the crashes, fortunately didn't see any on my effort.

First cut of results usually have some errors, should be fixed in the coming week.

What a spectacle....early start and like horses out the gate!!! No squeeze at the on-ramp and straight to work...good climb up Wynberg and great run down the M3. Simon's Town was a test climb into the wind...had me worried about Smits but it never really materialised....got shunted across the gutter into the side lane by a tandem at the Millers climb and had to bunny hop back twice to get back on the road!!! and what a run down to Scarborough and along Misty Cliffs, spectacular scenery but got hit hard by groin cramps!!! Pedalled through it and did a lot of standing up Chappies to keep the cramps at bay!! Suikerbossie was the usual riot of spectators willing everyone up and over...on the way down Llandudno and passed 12 Apostles, I realised I was in for a sub-4 so gunned it all the way...just made it TBC 3h54!!!! Beyond stoked!!!

We all come for the views!

Says a lot about racetec. Not like timing races is their main business 😅

I’m too seconds behind a guy I passed before the line, usual stuff ! Maybe Dan should ask for a photo finish, looked close on camera 😊

Racetec are the worst.

I remember the days when results were available within minutes of finishing

Ha, ha, ha. You must be young. I remember having to wait 2 weeks and buying a newspaper to find out how slow we rode. No bike computers, no gels, no recovery shakes and most importantly no electric scooters. And even unseeded riders got start in the dark (and the roads were empty). 😉

Came here to check who I can email about my results being wrong, but see everyone is complaining.
will wait to see what transpires.

and yes, some years I would receive the racetec sms with my result before I had a chance to finish my free coke and find a place to sit.

Ride for sight results were up before I left the place. And was racetec.

Had a great day out in the back of the bunch with family, not racing and not trying to get sub anything. Two questions:

Why were the refreshment stops so poorly stocked? Weak powerade and coke? Not even bananas? Is it just my imagination but compared to 947 it seemed pretty poor, especially considering that most people in the rear bunches will stop multiple times to stock up.

When did it become acceptable to ride in bunches wearing airpods? Nearly cost me a square metre of skin when someone in front of my decided to suddenly change direction despite me shouting "coming by on your right" a few times. Pass them to see them blissfully listening to music via noise cancelling earphones, completely oblivious to the world around them. Ai!
